I am not a holder here, and not sure if this is relevant, but I was at the Shares mag evening last night (to listen to VAST) and I saw the NRRP presentation from Beams. 1. He seemed very happy indeed with the Board and said he had his hands full concentrating on getting the license. 2. NRRP already has a funding deal in place from Greenstone. Beams said they were OK for money for now and that Greenstone funds could be drawn down - against targets - without their stake rising above 29.99% 3. He also said that all company eyes were on the Namib project and that the mine was in such a good state that little more expenditure would be required prior to grant of license. GLA GS

I am not sure that is told quite straight. I may be missing the point. He only gets it back if the company can repay (which it cannot at present). So it is really risk money (= equity). On that basis 10% per annum for three years is dirt cheap. Put it in context - there is no way I would lend you money at that rate. Or double, or treble. And at least the MD is putting his money where his mouth is. GLA GS

I almost gave up on UTW a few weeks ago, but Woodford's comments seem to have lit a fuse. It OUGHT to be a really solid, long term, income generative hold with a sensible chance of real capital appreciation. My patience is restored.... GLA GS

Could not agree more. This is one of my big holdings, built buying when dips like this happen. It is a top share - well run, great model, cash cow, dividend king and growing quickly in an expanding market. It is always possible it falls further but on any valuation tool I use it is simply dirt cheap at present. GLA GS

Celebrated with an outstanding coffee and pain au chocolat at the Pat Val booth in Victoria Station this morning. Says something for the company's communication that the (very polite) lady who served me know the general gist of the announcement. If in doubt, invest in management and Luke Johnson is top notch. Assuming the company's statement regarding 2015 (RNS end of March) still holds and that broker forecasts are anywhere near the mark, this has to be outstanding value in terms of dividend yield (over 5% at these prices) and forecast pre tax growth of over 50%. It is a long term share for me, so I am happy to add some at these levels. If the sp falls further I will add again but it is not a big deal given the quality of the business and the growing market in which it operates. GLA GS

It all helps. The only issue I can see is that AnaCap holds over 50% which is way too much. I imagine they will be looking to sell some of that down, and in doing so they will hold back the underlying sp (a little bit like Caledonian and its stake in EMR). However this is a good company and I am happy to hold and wait as I doubt the sp will actually go down. GLA GS

I imagine there will be some settling down post rights. Then the market will wait to see how well the acquisition is integrated and what synergies are to be had. Then the sp will fly again. I must admit to be incredibly relaxed here as I have been here since October '12 and halved a year later. So I am in for the cost of the rights and intend to leave this at the bottom of the SIPP drawer for a long time yet. But this is another company that simply delivers what it says it will, year after year and so I have great confidence in its future. GLA GS

What I like about this company (compare and contrast with TUNG for instance) is that they do the boring things well. All the numbers seem to be in line with their outlook for the year and since they are growing at a rate of knots that is good enough for me. With FTSE250 entry looking as certain as is possible they will also get a rerate in the next couple of months. All is good - just my kind of share. GLA GS

Is this price surge to do with FTSE250 entry? On its present market cap ALD is certain of a place when the membership of the index is recalculated (mkt cap next month, announced in Aug? - I think) GS

Thank God I am not a shareholder here anymore. The BoD are supposed to do their best for the shareholders ANYWAY. In this case, they have presided over a destruction of shareholder value that beggars belief and they are now setting up an incentive scheme for themselves that is will pay them to recover what they have lost. I am reminded of the Cheshire Cat.... GS

No I almost always buy pm so I am in the money (just) - not that it matters as I don't trade. GS

On the basis that people will need to sit down after the election, that the fall looks over done and that I have learned not to buy first thing in the morning I have just bought my first holding here. GLA GS

It is not a bad company. In SCSW Portfolio 3 I think. Good time to buy/top up. And the dividend yield just improved 25%. GS
