b. Had there been a change or 'unflattering news' they would have had to issue a further RNS contradicting what has been announced.

RNS based on more large trades on Thursday.

Mark leaving is hopefully just another part of the cost reductions in readiness for an eventual sell off as announced. Each opco has its own head of finance so nothing changes there and centralised finance functions just continue either under well established processes or using an external.

Either way it's another step towards a return of cash to us. Just my opinion.
