DEC are burning through cash (or debt) making up for shortfall in actual daily production on forward - sold contracts with spot purchase contracts. It's going to be ugly.

No, not really. Not when DEC has to buy gas daily at spot price to make up for production and delivery contract shortfalls.

It's more of a disaster for them, and us, as the November update will show clearly.

Pay close attention, all will be revealed, apparently.

They're still having to buy that shortfall in daily production. High spot prices are going to kill them again. But don't take my word for it, lol.

funny thing is, that first trade, in june 2021, came about because i was reading advfn and read a post from a poster calling himself lab305 (you heard of that whiny-****d loser, by any chance, notrex ? lol) complaining about terrible management not making enough money because they'd hedged so much output. i took a look, expecting to see a disaster of a company. back then though, things looks all above board, and probably were, back then.

Soooo, what are we to infer by the non-issue of an RNS, or even a press release ?

1) They don't care about what the value of their company is, which would be weird when they rely on the market cap of their business when their credit-worthiness is assessed.

2) What they know and would have to disclose is something that would result in a drop in share price far worse than we've seen up to now.

Metalhead - Ok, let's leave out the emotive word 'fraud'.

It is customary, amongst responsible companies, to issue a brief RNS when their share price is subject to large and/or sustained movements up or down, to either a) state the reason, if known, for said share movement or b) state they have no knowledge of the reason for a large or sustained movement in their share price.

The reason for such RNS announcements is not to admit guilt or declare innocence, it's to reduce speculation, rumour and/or gossip that can cause unwarrantyed volatility in their share price.

Jim800, I would read the pubnlication of an RNS stating something similar to 'The board of DEC notices the recent movements of the share. The board of DEC is unaware of any reason for the movement in share price' as a very positive development. They'd be on record as stating the company is not engaging in any fraudulent activity, and would make them liable for future proceedings if they have issued a misleading statement.

Until they do this, I think people have the right to ask why the silence ? Is it a tacit admission of guilt on the part of the board of DEC ?
