Clued, I think your logic is a bit flawed here. Best case scenario with regard to well capping and plugging - DEC can prove it costs only $20k to cap a well, so US govt slashes what it pays to cap 'orphan' wells (something a lot of posters here seem to think is a future lucrative revenue source for DEC) or worst case scenario - one of the allegations of fraud is proven when they can't justify their $20k capping figure. Pick your poison.

Seems someone on ADVFN is very confused. On one hand they accuse shorters of having inside information, while on the other hand they accuse me of being a shorter, yet I've declared EVERYTHING I know about this company over the past six months or so to this board, and to ADVFN board before I got banned for delivering bad news.

The US government, if it's going to hold a hearing, is not going to hold a hearing based on a news article that's two years old. The committee will be acting on the most up-to-date data EPA and other agencies have provided it with. This link to the Tanos II deal earlier this year, and the wells that DEC took on in that deal. the problem for DEC is NOW, not what an environmentalist wrote two years ago.
