But at this price we are still making a healthy profit based on the previous steady state production cost base which should reduce as volume increases. The market's realisation that Copper is unaffected by tariffs, as are Platinum and Palladium, means now it is the affect on demand that the market has to account for not tariffs themselves on the metals. We are in as good a position as we could be given the rout in global trade. Hang on to your hats ....

Jonah, you could equally argue, why would Jubilee sell 10 mill tonnes of ROM for $6.75 million when it contains copper worth probably over $300 million? Its only worth the end value if you can process it and do so locally as the costs involved in transporting it a distance will wipe out the value. With the 10 million tonnes we are getting insight into the processing as part of the deal. Maybe if it were otherwise we could have charged more but the value-add is where the money is. You may own a plot with proven gold reserves but if you cannot get them out of the ground they have £0 value. That we can sell this tranche of ore must have been in the agreement with the current owner as part of the process to prove up the resource. They have hardly done so without that, don't you think? ;)

Gray, to "know" something is to be in possession of facts; to have an opinion on something is simply that. As Northern pointed out a couple of days ago, that it didn't complete lies at Leon's feet not mine. This RNS on the other hand clearly stated that the value of the trade deal was $6.75 million. You (for whatever reason) chose to disbelieve it, even to the point of suggesting JLP might receive NOTHING in return, an opinion you are welcome to espouse of course, but then claimed it was a fact by saying you knew (absolute) it to be the case..... To paraphrase Churchill "This is the type of arrant deception up with which I will not put...". Anyway, I've had enough amusement with this now .... But I will continue to challenge the like whenever it occurs.
