RE: The case for dividends17 Jul 2021 10:08
As much as I respect your experience and thought process, Jack, companies that pay dividends are mature companies that have reached an operating state whereby growth through new types of operation or moving into new territories isn't part of the strategy; they have either done it or it was never in the plan. They are successful, often dominant in their field and their revenues are secure, so their ability to pay recurring dividends is clear and it is that stability, that surety of income stream, that stable platform that attracts investors looking for an income and not capital growth. I have little doubt that JLP WILL attain that state at some point ...but not yet. We are still in the foothills of an aggressive growth stage where capital investments will generate capital growth for holders. To my mind it makes much more sense and is aligned with the stated strategy to use any excess profit to continue to invest in the company's growth to attain a dominant and leading position in this new niche of tailings re-processing, which the world has woken up to recently. And I believe Leon has the vision, technical ability, leadership and political skills to do it.
