Worth a read. She is actually talking about profitability and Newgate in the same sentence. Also interesting that they are rolling out the research element in UK which has been key to the Australian success. See what results or TU bring. Lot of the bad news and costs has been placed in 2018. Along with 1-2m cost saving.

The numbers are in n par with 2017. They talk about increase in margins which can only be good news. They are down to 20m now. I guess due to the new facilities. I don't think market reaction will be that bad. The 1.75bn research news helped share price here. Someone has been buying or clearing short positions. Downside is more jam tomorrow.

Mixed news. EBITDA and revenue 3-4m lower than predicted in November perhaps due to exceptional costs. They seem bullish about prospect for commercial year. Talk of rationalisation in facilities. See what market makes of this.

Trading update released.

Normally get a trading update about now. Still no news on debt. Any more share issues at 1p would be a nightmare. Or update on how relations with SEC are going. There sp is below 90p now. Peak of 125p.

Merely posting news as I find it. There has not been a huge amount of news to be positive about lately. Great that employees have had 26m shares in 2018/19 but this is diluting shareholders who have lost 60-70% from their peak. Not great PR timing but these things have likely been agreed months/years ahead. Reaching 180p may have triggered some bonuses. If some shorts did close on Friday that will be good news. Hopefully iqe can push forward now but I prefer caution with shorts still involved here.

That is a decent rise today. Ironically Odey Asset Management increased their short on 16th Jan by 0.11%.

They are issuing 12m shares for employees scheme. They issued 14m share for this last time. So a 1-2 increase in overall shares. I would ignore rise in share. Seen it all before. Will drift back down. I assumed the shares are loaned to shorters from T Rowe Price.

It's not their fault sp rose on hype. No one complained when sp soared from 15p to 180p. Or asked for explanations. Many got greedy when they should of taken profit. The share price rose on huge expectations which iqe was unlikely to ever meet. This is why the share got hugely shorted as many realised the share was over priced. Everyone just got carried away with this share. Then just kept believing the share would recover. Many continually topping up on a falling share. This is why sp is falling now. Yes Apple. Also fund dumping this share. Leaving 1-2 funds to mop up sold shares. Not sure what you expect here. No firm is really going to give the update you expect about share price movement when it's clear most is down to market forces.

What silence? My view is they would not normally do a TU now. Most firms only do 2 a year. With further AGM and updates around the results. Next update should be with the results.

Writing to the board will often get no response. Could be deleted as spam unless they truly know who you are. What can they really tell you? I wouldn't reply an unknown sender by email.

Last year the only real trading update you get in H1 is results and AGM statement. A TU RNS now would only be bad news given Apple news. Normally companies only update market if performance is well above or below market expectations. Unless there is news about new processes happening. These would be general publications

Shorts wise. Agree those above 0.5% have not changed sine December and both changes were small. Have Marshall Wace fuly cleared now? I think they are gradually fully clearing here. Shorts under 0.5% may have reduced here but again unless you know who these firms are hard to tell. I think the 8.24% is waiting for the results at which point many might clear. That is where any bad news may be.

Share price here is not really shifting from 60p mark. Remember price at 100-140p and above included expectations of 40% year on year growth. Unlikely to happen given November RNS. See what results hold.

Wil take a few months for the new CFO to have any impact. Could be 5-6 months before he fully beds in. Maybe sooner with his experience?

Public relations is the window display of IQE. That is what PR people do. They paint a good image of IQE to the world. I am not sure what their Roadshow was meant to do. Guess a PR exercise to show off IQE technology to the world.

Really not sure how much Brexit will impact IQE. Lot of their trade is outside of Europe. They are dealing with many US firms. Plus IQE SP is at or near it's low for the year. With nearly 80-90 million invested into the firm less than a year ago.

All shares have risk. Get this share right and there could be money to be made. Do I see SP changing much before results? Unlikely unless there is hype. Still seems to be many sellers out there. Buys and sells are constantly matching here. Where are the funds buying huge swathes of shares? Many have already had their hands burned here. Especially those that bought in at 140p who may now be dumping their shares.

Seems to me like fund sellers in background. 2 days of more buys than sells but sp falling. Not got access to level 2. Why are so many funds selling if such a bargain?

Still a chance this could go lower. No shorts have reduced or increased for a while now. With aim sometimes mm shift price for no reason purely based on an RNS. Buying purely on sp being so low is not a great reason. It's Low for a reason. Share has a lot of risk here.

Just under a month to go for CFO. Looks like a few buys today from funds. Lot of automated trades here showing as buys. No real news on how business is going. Results in March.

There was an rns relating to share issues this year. Went to a third party company. Not sure what the smaller issues were for. Happy investing all and a happy new year to all.

Politics! He should know better than to mumble stuff in the House of Commons with so many cameras about. PMQT has always been about grabbing a few headlines. If Corbyn had said nothing he would not be on the front page of most papers. He needs to raise his game here. Same for Labour. The issue is they too have no plan B that any of the other parties would vote for.

All of this is not good news for IQE as it just adds to the uncertainty. This in turn is affecting other world economies along with other global issues such as the China trade war with US.

Hard to tell. They sometimes do a pre close year trading update. However they indicated in November their expected figures for the year. They may also take the view that they would need something meaningful to say. Better maybe to do one once the CFO has started and to show a brighter 2019. Figures may also be in line with last months TU anyway.

What will a further statement here 1 month and 7 days later add? Maybe they will suprise investors tomorrow. I doubt they would do it Christmas week.

Not sure why share would surge on anticipation of a TU. Everyone knows funds and shorts are in control of this share. Too many private investors have had their hands burnt here. This share may take off in 2019. Many have big questions about what IQE may predict and what will actually happen. The yearly accounts for 2018 could hide a lot of bad news pending on accounting procedures. Brexit is a big issue here. Value of pound falling too.

They are down 0.1% to 0.49%. So Shorts now at 8.24%. Albeit hard to know how many have opted to stay just below 0.5%.

Strange that the SP is still falling. All inidcations are that shorts seem to be closing. Were still getting a lot of automated trades.

It's possible with such small volume other shorters could manipulate the SP here. Could also be reaction to Wall Street which is down quite a bit at present.

Not sure Dr Nelson comments yesterday really helped. Normally CEO can't really talk about share prices. See what next week brings. Christmas is normally a quiet time for most shares. They need to show orders have picked back up and their new facility will be able to run at full capicity once complete. They have and are spending a lot of money on this.

Yes statement suggests trading as or bettter than market expects. The net debt is a worry for me but as long as they make money that is good.

RNS today suggest Canaccord Genuity Group Inc still reducing. From 12.3% to 10.99% over the 2 holding RNS. Maybe top slicing their investment here? Someone clearly wanted shares yesterday. Also a lot of automated and or delayed buys yesterday. One assumes they were all buys.

See what happens. Could we see more bigger deals to follow? Maybe pause to let dust settle.

GNW. T Rowe Price have taken back 0.6% of shares.
