They have in effect removed this loss making group from their books. It was a liability from the start that they never owned.

Cannacord reducing? Or lots of level 2 trying to sell? They have made several large purchases here. Have to see if these have paid off.

Citigate is basically moving closer to other brands. Apparently down to leases running out. If they had this much free office space why was this not done sooner? Worth reading above. Maybe markets have read this in the wrong way?

Shorts still appear to be closing. JP Morgan down 0.04% on 07/12/2018. Plus the 0.7% T Rowe Price took back on 5th, What is more likely is some funds are still selling here. At 69p were close to the 74p valuation one of the online reports gave. It would be good to see Coltrane reduce soon.

In terms of a TU it would have to show strong new orders for the new year.

Dividend seems unlikely. They are investing millions into a new factory. Plus spending millions on research too. So to make money here you need SP to rise year on year. At least the 2 main investors here are still buying.

Had one on 13th November. Seems unlikely before new year.

Looks like T Rowe Price have taken back about 0.7% of loaned shares and bought a few more.

With stock market falling you would expect IP Group to take a hit here. Most of their business is investment in other firms. Was last week solely a reaction to this? Or the news of fund raising in one of their investments?

Yeah I did wonder about that 1000p. Clearly a mistake.

So this suggests the SP is over valued?

I'P Group was also given an 'avoid' branding by Questor in the Sunday Telegraph. IP, which looks to use its strong connections with universities to win the rights to academic breakthroughs and turn them into profitable firms, has "flattered to deceive" for much of its 18-years. The worry is that the FTSE 250 outfit, which said the fair value of its portfolio was £1.16bn at the end of June, "should be doing better than it has done".'

This shares seems to suffer peaks and troughs. Mainly from it's largest investors often propping up the share. IP group is still heavily influence by it's major shareholder who have large stakes in it.

Well that didn't last long. Got to 81p and now back down to 75p. I never know what to think with this share. Could be profit taking? Was a 33% jump in a few days.

Looks to be moving further up today. This could easily see 80p. Unclear why the sudden move from 60p-80p. One option is a fund is supporting the SP here. I think the background seller may have cleared. Also possible funds below 0.5% are clearing. Have to see what happens as a lot of automated trades still. It's almost at some of the broker valuations now.

This is recovering really well. Maybe 57p was the rock bottom. Buys out weigh sells by 2-1 today.

Whoever was selling up has cleared their stake for now. No movement in visible shorts above 0.5% for a few days now.

Panmure cuts Huntsworth target price to 45p from 54p?

So are they saying Huntsworth is worth half the current share price? Bizarre. It has been drifting a bit lately.

So they value business now around 73p. By 2020 to 132p if management meet high end of targets. So SP could add 90% if they match their numbers. Note the profit figures are normalised and exclude a number of things

I wonder what percentage of IQE's revenue is reliant on Apple?

Overall at present their suggesting firm is worth 5-8p more.

US Markets were closed yesterday. So probably quiet today too. A few weeks with a constant share price would be good here. That and more shorts closing. I don't see a sudden bounce back to 80-90p here.

Not suprised Valiant cleared out here. They increased their position to 1.11% in June time when share was 100-104p. At 60p they would be making a lot of money. Good time to bank their profit. How much lower would this share really go? It will be 1-2 months before any real news.

Probably same for Wellington too albeit their entry price was a bit lower. Wouldn't be suprised if they have fully cleared here too.I think before they have stopped just under 0.5%. With Valiant it was crystal clear what they did.

Of the shorts left. Marshall Wace have been reducing constantly for months now. They were heavily involved around 130p-180p. Maybe started to clear too soon but even at £1 they were making money. They started to heavily increase from 0.6%-4.25% when the share was starting to soar from 130- 180p.

Coltrane too got in right at the peak here. So maybe they will let others clear out first.

Overall short positions appear to be closing here. I think Marshall Wace followed by Coltrane next. Both are in huge profit.

What does concern me is why the SP is not moving further ahead if shorts are closing so much. The days trades for buys and sells seem pretty organised. Some days the trades stick to highs of 30-40k. Other days it's much higher. Suggests to me 1-2 firms in background exchanging shares in a orderly manor. Hence why price is still around 60p. Probably agreed an average price.

Any opinion why the share is not moving ahead further if lots of short positions are closing? The shorters already have their bad news. I really doubt any further bad news in next 1-2 months. Apple normally recover. Perhaps just raised the phone price point too high on the new models.

I think T Rowe Price may reduce further as some of their short position close. They always mixed buying with increasing shorts. So maybe the reverse will be true.

See if tomorrow brings some good news. As short positions reduce this will make share more attractive to many.

Some positive news!
Shorts down by 0.44%. Valiant have reduced by that amount on 19th November. They now hold 0.69% short here.
Those above 0.5% at 9.54%. So maybe 55-60p could be a good entry point here? Assuming they can meet their targets.

Peel Hunt Broker now at 137p.

Well shorts down 0.12%. As the fund has fallen below 0.5% it makes the drop looks much bigger. This is what makes the big difference when shorts slip below 0.5%. Wellington did have 2 short positions above 0.5%. Both now below the threshold. I suspect Wellington took on these positions at prices around 80-90p so may be very happy to take profit.

In terms of share price. 3 years ago SP was circa 25p.
2015 revenue 114m with profits of 7m.
2016 132m profit 19.83m
2017 154m profit 17m
2018 160M Profits circa 14-17m?
They raised 90m at 140p. Which is 20% of the value of the company. Albeit this is being invested in the new factory. Profits are also double what they were 3 years ago. Assuming they maintain business traction can this really go much lower? Assuming they have protected IP and demand for their products. So valuation 3 x revenue with about 45m in the bank.

I wonder if loaned out shares with T Rowe Price might now gradually be returned with T Rowe Price managing it's holding. I can't see them wholesale selling out here.They are in way too deep. Coltrane will be the key here.When will they decide to cash up? 24m shares.

Broker update. Barclays Capital today reaffirms its overweight investment rating on IQE PLC [LON:IQE] and cut its price target to 84p (from 170p). Valuation halved!

So they took back 0.13% of loaned shaes and sold 0.9% of their holdings.

@ Mike they have definately reduced here. All those 6% of shares was already loaned out.

My reason for not touching this share is more risk vs reward. I have no idea where this will go for now. I would like to see the share settle first.

Not trying to point out all the bad things here. Just playing devil's advocate. This board needs all kind of opinions.

Positive yes that they are still buying here. Few theories.
1. They think this long term will rise and is a good investment. That or averaging down.
2. Another stakeholder here is selling out and they are buying up the sold stock. 2.32% of the company in 1-2 days. They have now increased by 5-6% in last month. I can assure you there won't be floating stock of this level. Which makes me think the sells in last 1-2 days have been by funds and not shorters.
3. OppenheimerFunds and T Rowe Price are buying up stock for a takeover by a third party? Seems unlikely.
4. T Rowe Price already have a big enough stake here and selling funds approached OppenheimerFunds. Would explain a lot of the large trades here. Plus the huge volumes of the 2 days.

The SP is down below 60p so clearly there is still selling pressure here.

SCGE FUND, L.P. - Have cleared their 0.8% position completely on13th
Polar Capital LLP have taken a 0.61% short from 0% on 12th,
BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Limited increased short by 0.08% on 12th.

A small net reduction by shorts. Albeit others may well report tomorrow. Plus those below 0.5% we don't see.

In terms of brokers.
IQE: Deutsche Bank reiterates hold with a target price of 80p. This was reduced from 100p. Missed the 02/10/2018 update. So 20% reduced.

Be interesting to see other broker updates. Any at 170-190p seem crazy now. Pie in the sky.
