Thanks Garry. So the size of the bucket, proportion of oil vs gas vs water, and having no holes in the bucket are all unknowns and important aspects to reveal I suppose. I wonder how much they must tell us vs what they keep for the "data rooms"?

Just searching for info on xcd prior to us buying them out. I just love the sound of stratigraphic traps. Does anyone else apart from me think we may have hit one with Merlin? I think maybe DW was alluding to this in the last RNS but then again I am not an oil man so do not really understand if the wording suggests this. I really appreciate the reams of good info /opinions posted recently. Still learning and hoping this is turning into the exciting discovery this company was conceived to produce.
I must say that the vast range of opinions all arguing and debating the true worth of this company is quite astonishing. A few weeks back in the foothills of the recent spike, many naysayers ridiculed a $1billion market capital valuation, whereas now I get the distinct feeling that multibillion valuations are becoming more plausible or even expected by shareholders.
Now to hear more opinions that maybe we don't want the cheap 3p buyout by a major and to prove up to grab the true 30 or 40p worth does further stoke the old eureka valve .
I hope we do fall into a stratigraphic trap or two and prove them up.

..and if more than one buyer, even better. I think DW needs to drip feed a bit more news out to coax the 'buyers' unless it's a done deal in which case he won't say owt until the fat lady is yodelling and he's zippety-do-dahing back to Perth.

I had noticed that Jiddys tone had changed and assumed he'd offloaded some and was now trying to lower the price to get back in. It's all part of what you learn on here. I personally dont believe a few words on here affect the SP much. Maybe a few small punters like me ( in the past) take note but with so many shares in issue I believe the price moves on big buys/sells or oil industry rumours that this board doesnt know about until its already been published,or actual published RNSs from either us or one if our neighbours. Any one of the above can happen at any second of the day but timing matters too and worth noting that. Why do you think it's common for a SP move running into a weekend?. Will it be up or down. I think up.

I can't dispute what you say Jiddy. However, I remain upbeat about the next 12 -18months that the last 6 years will be worth the wait. Hopefully the capital they may need will be forthcoming via more acceptable means rather than straight dilution. Dilution isnt really dilution if the 'deal' that is struck adds more value than it takes away.
Just my opinion and I accept I'm gambling unlike some folk. I could cash in now and try to buy back at a lower price. But I'm not sure I will be able to do that, so I'm holding onto my stash.

8.22 to 8.37 - I agree. Pantheon news, Bidens freeze, Yukon lease, full takeover, partial takeover but also the background deals that have been spoken about regarding FOs for ice wine conventional and unconventional, could all be catalysts to a re-evaluation. I guess we are mainly in this for the biggest prize, yes? Still lots of tickets for the big one, fingers crossed. What have we got to lose? If we sit tight and no one sells the price cant go down. Who ever bought a lottery ticket but sold it before the draw took place?

In the absence of further comment from 88E BOD, it's likely the SP will drift a bit. However, I am intrigued as to what the reaction will be if the next RNS which could report 'further analysis' of samples or info from drilling were to indicate increased positivity on the DISCOVERY made. Dont forget we are an oil exploration company who's sole purpose is to discover oil. MERLIN 1 HAS DONE THAT. Read the previous RNSs. SP should not be drifting until a bad news RNS imo. But probably will because ppl dont get it, maybe. Or maybe my faith is misplaced. Everyone to their own.

Hmmm. Thanks for your thoughts guys. 'Tis concerning that reporting is lousy and accountability seems zero. Talk about adrift at sea. I guess they don't see themselves accountable to shareholders, even though it is oft said that they 'are creating value for shareholders'. Do they care really if they can get away with it? Frankly it beggars belief. Just hope they do the right thing and we can end up delighted with their work. Slim chance?

There's too much delay on the share trades tab to tie with share price. If it's the same picture for longer than 15 minutes . Ie lots of sells but price going up. Means someone is accumulating maybe? Why would someone accumulate shares? Even if we dont know its enough to send the price up. Just my own speculation. Could be talking borrocks.

If I was "plugging" something it would be to stop the contents escaping. Just saying. ;-)

It does appear that someone is hovering up shares for a reason. They could buy enough at the lower prices so now the price goes up in the hope to get nervous shares out of nervous hands.
Smacks of market manipulation but I guess it happens a lot, sadly. Happy to hold to see how badly they want my freebies. Try 10p. I might be tempted. So ner.

..and fortune favours the brave. No sense in having collywobbles in this share. Theres that word again - fortune. Lots here have chances to average down and sit tight. God only knows what the US effect will be long term as some have speculated.
Wonder what caused the power outage? Lack of oil for the generator?. What happened to the back up generator. Hope it wasn't sabotage by the sacked photographer! I bet Merlin 1 will be a blockbuster movie one day.
