09.49 - with all that's going on, yes possibly. But again it depends on news and how excited buyers become. At the end of the day whether its PIs, IIs or oil companies valuing assets they must do there own DD and maths to value a company. The maths depends on which numbers you use and who you believe in giving the profitability estimates per barrel and volume estimates. Then along comes a buyout. Big buyers usually want things cheap. Like Anglo Am gobbling Sirius. Look how high they got.
But, make no mistake the Talitha and Merlin news, if good, could take this beyond the billion. IMHO.
I was spiked at 4p a few years back and averaged down by over exposing to this small minnow. But now anything above 1.26p is profit. But I'm holding most for the big jump before mid next week.
Like I said good luck. It is needed of course. Nothing certain.

How's that Bighow? If a big oil find is confirmed in no uncertain terms the maths will dictate what ppl will pay. I'm no expert either but given a profitable per barrel profit multiplier, on this drill alone, multiplied by confirmed estimates of reservoir volumes, plus thoughts of our other potentially excellently positioned other leases, the price could go anywhere from here. Up or down, depending on the long awaited news and next 12 months. Some ppl have already 6 bagged in 5 months. I have 3 tranches of shares. Decided to profit and free carry a few on one tranche, but the other two tranches in my SIPP and ISA are the early retirement pots. Could be tomorrow, could be 88 day on monday. Let's see shall we.

Totally agree Davey. The move was quite transparent too. To be applauded. Great management team. Great pipeline, trustworthy CEO, best prospects for long term hold. The only thing holding it back is sentiment regarding china imo. That will change. China is and has changed. The young ppl will see to that.

Me too. Being cynical I reckon the delay is for tax reasons. Maybe not to our benefit either. This company or shell should not be in this position at all. Some ppl are just too clever for their own good. There cant be many decent ppl left in charge in AIM companies. I'm just annoyed our laws allow them to get away with their antics.

Btw. Had I known that a US listing (otc or full listing) was on the cards, i would have bought millions instead of the 500 000 ive got. The increase in interest and volume has certainly been a benefit hasn't it. No doubt some folk were privy to the US Interest before it was known by us mushrooms. Makes ye think.

23.08 - Guzzler, I asked the same question about no announcement regarding US 'listing' a few days back and was given fairly short shrift as most on here see the topic as deflationary on the SP and management. Given that we are presumably all holders and want the price to go up, I accept that the shares in the US are not on a listed exchange but are OTC and no announcement was required. The fact that other companies did announce is perhaps down to their preference of total transparency that maybe doesnt suit some. I reckon he relevance will be over most ppls heads so i kept quiet.
In any case, I'm very confident (hopeful) that the drill results will make this question irrelevant. But it shows you are an honest bloke looking for answers to relevant questions. Good on you.

English swings like a pendulum too. Bobby's own bicycle two by two, Westminster abbey the tower of big Ben, the rosy red cheeks of the little children. Just testing my memory folks. Altogether now...

Thanks Ddraig. Hadn’t realised the OTC acronym meaning. Now I think I follow having had a read up about it on Investopedia. I’m still a novice yet. I suppose the fact that OTC trades in the states didn’t start until recently is down to little interest in out of favour oil minnows until
1. the US woke up to the propects of a positive Merlin result.
2. The oil price picked up.
3. social media got hold
4. The 88 energy true potential value dawned or those outside the know.

All we need now then is the positive results we are hoping for or perhaps a bit more anticipation of what is to come for those fearing they will miss the biggest rise.
We will know soon enough I guess. My forecast would be 2.5p without news and at least 5p with initial good results. To sustain and improve on 5p we will need further FO news and signs of buyout ( which some posters already suggest are happening).
Fingers crossed and nerves held.

It depends if the kicking you will give yourself exceeds the smugness depending on a massive rise or a collapse. To be fair there may be a lot in your situation. If they all dump at once and then the good news comes can you imagine the histeria. Great this isn’t it. Not for the faint hearted.

Do Any of our board regulars have any explanations for no announcements? Other shares I hold would be shouting from the rooftops if they started a listing elsewhere. Eg HCM may be listing on HongKong later this year. Share price usually impacted positively by this increased liquidity.
Thoughts anyone?
