I struggled to make any sense of 'milkshaking' reference but the Rule of Capture is indeed eye-opening and appears inequitable, as in its purest original form it allows the potential to extract, indirectly, from the acreage of others. It does appear to have been tempered in later applications with the view that a landowner ought to own the resource falling within its own acreage. It would be good to know the approach of the State of Alaska as there appear many points of crossover.
Did you find the answer on this one cb? Cus if not I was thinking of nicking your pint when you nip to the bog.

For what it’s worth - my valuation of 88e on my spreadsheet is 4 times what you estimate. But also your favourite share gets my thumbs up too. Happy now?

All depends on how serious and committed the ‘developer’ is regarding solving the emerging oil crisis, together with authorities, governments and green lobbyists. I remember the power cuts in the early 1970s. Pretty grim memories. We remain the explorer and 88e bod can do the maths (yes it’s plural). COP can do maths too. Can anyone else, who matters.

I have no idea of 3D seismic cost. But if appropriate it will be paid for, just as the NN did.
I've never been to the Globe. Yes, I know 88E intentions to realise value and deal at the appropriate time, as i understand the NNs same intention to sell up. My point, as you know very well, is the elderly nature of the BOD and their 'urgency' that they attach to making some form of deal is surely weakening their hand. If they sweat, the deal will be potentially worse. The impression i get is that they want out within 12-18 months. Hopefully with big fat wallets, but I suspect they will leave with more shares, diluting the rest of us. Possibly reducing the SP if the deal is bad.
Nope, I've tried again to estimate 88Es percentage of the oil fields overlapping onto our acreage and really, yes really, as an engineer have absolutely no idea how to estimate it without 3D or drilling. What bit don't you understand? You're not an engineer so what qualifies you to insist on an answer? Would you tell your dentist to do a root filling? See what I did there? Hypocrite!

Lastly, I know full well that Merlin was not officially declared a discovery by 88e. Why would that be necessary to confirm if its very obvious from the RNSs? However, I await Merlin 2 with eager anticipation.

I actually take great comfort in looking at the last webinar from our neighbour. I’ve watched probably 6 or 7 times now. Specifically to try understand how their oil suddenly stops at the end of their leases and only allows a little dribble onto 88e land. My Conclusion is that it is unlikely to do that.
If I look at the webinar video at 1hr 2 mins into the webinar I see a map, showing immature oil, early oil, but importantly ‘main’ oil clearly running way south over the border onto 88e leases.
Also note the huge thickness of theta west at the boundary of our leases. Same with SMD etc etc.
I also note, they have a missing section of 3D seismic, adjacent to 88e acreage. Also that 88e have not yet done their own 3D immediately south of The NN.
I don’t really feel a need to estimate how much the NN oil discovery extends onto our acreage. It is clearly a subject that our bod will address in time. And, importantly, I believe they are quite happy to let the NN do the donkey work for us. Right now we are exploring Peregrine and will come back to this when funds allow.
It was never a sprint. The only ppl in a hurry are the NN. Their last big play before riding off into the sunset. Not a smart thing to advertise imho. I do hope it doesn’t affect their ability to sell up for a good price, but not the cleverest move.

The Sp had fallen near its 20 day average. Correction over. Now for the next wave upwards, I hope.
I expect it will continue like this until fair value is accepted by the market. Of course any RNSs along the way could reset the pattern accordingly. Good or bad.
Great share to learn fundamental charting on.
If it wasn't an Anglo spin off, I wouldn't be here though. Not much experience in SA companies or coal for that matter.

I'm fine with that Rabito. Yes clearly a little early to be getting so deep into this detail. But it's clear to see from the helpful docs posted by Brom, myself and others what the state authorities demand from lessees and what powers they have to force explorers and operators to do 'efficient' work. It all makes sense. And I admit I learn more everyday.
