It's a bittersweet one this.
One on hand pleased my theory about Faberge having a value not recognized by market was correct, first posted about that before company had publicly announced their intention to carve it out.
On the other value they realised below my expectations. For a luxury group like LVMH or Richemont, $50m wouldn't even have been a rounding error in context of their valuations, definitely surprised one of these big European jewellery names didn't bid it up.
Can't complain too much, just not quite the blockbuster sale I imagined. With Faberge going, that's also been my cue to exit. Rump group comes away with a much improved balance sheet and sure it'll be fine, but as a pure play miner exposed to regional instability and unpredictable politics, few too many banana skins for my tastes.
