It's never going to compete with Amazon/ebay/Chinese ecommerce etc. A real clanger of an acquisition by previous management. I'm sure Roberts would love to get rid of it and be a pure play consumer staple story because he's a decent grocer. Kicker is being so integrated with Sainsbury's stores makes it out a challenge to carve out. Probably why JD.com walked away from talks last year.

Good question. Market is tough on these retailers. To me main takeaway was grocery and overall topline YoY up by a greater % than Tesco, which can only be bullish.

Otherwise fuel is a bit of drag. But suspect Argos culprit for drop. Rev decline when inflation as high as it is not great. It's a bit of a deadweight now and overshadowing success of rest of business. In an ideal world they'd sell it then grocery numbers would do all the talking.

It's interesting to look at what our backer Eric Sprott achieved with one of his main listed ventures New Found Gold. That's now a goliath now valued in excess of $1.4bn Canadian. I hold NFG too but can honestly say with everything I've read about this deal, GAL is actually the superior prospect.

the other interesting thing is the location. chile is a top tier location with likes of ftse100 listed anto***asta. then you read galantis' operation is adjacent to the porphyry copper mine operated by teck. so the skilled workforce, infrastructure, roads, electricity, already in place.

plus we have the established facilities that come included as part of this deal to go with millions of ounces of gold in the ground. and we have copper too! it's turn key operation with a neighbour valued in the tens of the billions.

we are in extremely good company here.

Momentum certainly on our side here, it really helps these shares are so tightly held by insiders and IIs, consequently there's just not much stock to go round.

Even with recent uplift you sense we're still way under the radar here - and still have a very long way to go to reach fair value.

An epic rise so far but we are still very early here. Even as 3 bagger+ for me I have zero plans to sell a single share - this will be a firm long term hold because being valued in the hundreds of millions in inevitable. This is not a ramp but the real deal. With millions of ounces in the ground, facilities in place, a tightly held share register backed by IIs, a hedge fund plus Canada's best known name in gold mining, this is only going one way.

Already a 100% for me but added on open here on this deal news. With Eric Sprott on board can only see this going one way. This will soon be a fully functioning gold mine with potential for millions of ounces in ground to be unlocked with full facilities in place. Sprott turned likes of New Found Gold into a company valued at over $1bn Canadian. GL

All the signs are this is a giant in the making. We are still very early here.

Where it gets even more interesting is they are looking to expand the already resource funded by the gold/copper already being mined, backed by what seems to be a top tier team. Can see this becoming the next big name.

Came across this after learning Eric Sprott was one the funders that took part in recent acquisition, with other pretty big names in mining taking part too.

Seems like a compelling opportunity with an operational gold mine. Not many micro caps can claim that. Mad thing is you see high risk greenfield explorers valued way more than this!

Keep coming back to the massive value gap between this and ALRT.

Current ALRT market cap £47m, and increasing all the time with ATM share issuance.

Here we are cashed up, placing out the way, new contracts including foot in door with public sector plus Tier 1 defence client, compared to ALRT without any paying customers as far as I can see. Nor does it have any II interest, whereas RCFX has a shareholder register including heavy hitters recently buying like UBS and Pentwater.

Conclusion I draw from all this is for me this will be a firm hold until we are valued at least as much as ALRT - and in reality we should be valued way in excess of it already.
