It is indeed a big read, very impressive, it's all you could wish for in an annual report, glossy, much detail about the collaborative relationships forged, and the pathway to a cleaner, greener future. I was pleased to see that the company actually managed to make a profit on the customer contracts it has, which obviously helped to defray the overall loss generated by the overhead. I appreciate that the gross profit is modest, but hey ho, it's a start, so onward and upward....If we assume that the sales and cost of sales are all based on variable costs, and that the gross profit percentage is a constant (which, if looking at gross margin, it should be) then we should be in a position to break even once we hit the annual sales figure of approximately £387,000,000....

and even worse, you asked for specifics.........that won't go anywhere, because they don't like dealing in facts....

Yup, you got me there.........its a lease on what terms we have no idea........its a commercial transaction all right, but no one knows whether its a commercially viable agreement,. Until such time as we see the terms of the lease and can determine whether said terms cover the cost of production of the product, plus the amortised cost of development, we don't actually know whether the lease is commercially viable....If you look carefully at the actual form of words in the RNS disclosing the collaborative agreement (again, on what terms we have no idea) it could be argued that only the hydrogen is being provided on commercial terms, depending on interpretation.

So its really another MOU, except this time there would appear to be a lease in place of some kind, with an undisclosed income stream that could, for all we know, be a peppercorn. It is worth noting that this is a demonstrator unit, and there is no clear indication that this is actually a market ready product, merely that the two parties will explore the possible exploitation of the construction industry market.....the next big thing? again?

Don’t think for one minute I’m agreeing with your apologist stance, which is absolutely unable to accept that there’s anything other than good news on the horizon, and jam tomorrow. I’m simply pointing out that sometimes keeping your own counsel is prudent. We all have our views about where the company is on the development front, and indeed whether the rhetoric coming out of the moth of AB can actually be backed up by either evidence of a viable product, let alone sales, but Garonne, keeping on repeating the same line about the ineptitude or whatever of AB over and over again really isn't reinforcing your message, it's just making it look like you are shouting at the wall, and generating compassion fatigue, I never thought I'd say this, but I now read your comments with the same level of enthusiasm as I do McRampup, the only difference being yours aren't delusional of insulting.......sometimes less is more, and a succinct point made at the opportune moment is better than white noise.....

If they can't charge a bunch of little dune buggies without having to resort to having a bloody great battery as a buffer, how on earth do you expect them to be able to charge HGV's? This really is transitioning from wishful thinking to desperate delusional drivel. Get a grip man, there is no news, we're in the doldrums, and just accept it......keep coming up with all of these very tenuous proto opportunities really compromises any credibility you may possibly have had...which has never been much......never mind, keep on giving all of these new proto opportunities the heads up....

I’ve just given Dairylea the heads up about a possible application for the AFC fuel cell to provide power to their facilities when they start mining for blue cheese on the moon…..

Don’t you just love that relic from the 80’s lexicon of management mambo jumbo, “giving someone the heads up”….from the recipients point of view, usually means an unsolicited piece of drivel from some random nut job who’s deluded enough to think that anyone is actually interested… now if it was a case of “excellent data” or “good input” after some “blue sky thinking” then that might be a different matter…..yup, this is random drivel, but hey ho, if you can’t beat em, join em…..

But the fact remains the same, the fuel cell isn’t an on demand supply, and if it’s struggling to cope with charging a few go karts without resorting to some kind of battery buffer, how on earth is it going to be able to cope with the demands of multiple BV charging requirements. Or will deployment be dependent on a bloody great battery sat in the wings; It may be that using the cell as an actual charging medium in its own right generates significant degradation and the only way they can get it to work is in a steady state charge cycle, hence the need for the battery buffer……..but it’s all supposition, as it is from ALL OF US as we are all on the outside looking in, and dependent on what comes out of the mouth of AB, whether believable or not (oops! Had a bit of a Grampian moment there

Thank you for your rational response. I get the analogy, but if the “tap” is only able to supply the “water” at a certain rate, and relies upon the “Bath” to up the charge density at times oh high peak usage, then one must surely ask the question of why we don’t just use renewables as a trickle charge to trickle the water directly into the bath, rather than to either use the renewables to generate hydrogen via an electrolyser, or crack some other fuel to generate the hydrogen. It just seems to me that, unless the fuel cell can indeed act as an on demand supply, then it’s surplus to requirements, and potentially a less green solution than renewables to battery ‘ super capacitor……or am I missing something …..
