Mancs99. Yes, the results from this type of study would be the same. I’m not sure what regulation is already in place for this. The EU would normally describe a common technical specification under Annex 2a of Medical Devices. This would specify what experiments, what targets and what minimum efficacy to be achieved before allowing CE marking. In such a CTS it would be very unlikely COVID-19 would need to be used as the target for surface decontamination but rather a related, safer target. However, I don’t think any such CTS has been listed yet. Importantly, if it were and if it did require demonstration against COVID-19 itself then the results would be the same as for the bovine coronavirus tested.
It is likely all this will be dealt with in the final study report.
