EUR 650M = £556M.

sp would be 3.15/83x556 = 21.1p

But I personally think it would be for a lot more than this

I don't know about most but I'll say what I said when I came in a few months ago. I believe this bank is a success story that has hit a bump in the road, but it will come good. I think the fantastic growth in just 10 years will continue and Metro is part of the future of banking. I'm happy to hold for 10+ years to see that (unless it gets bought out of course...). Don't forget book value is way more than mcap at the moment.

Joe, let me ask you the other way round. A small cap company discovers an extra 13 M oz of Palladium just as prices are skyrocketing. Possibly another 25 million on top of that. To your mind, what happens next? How should this play out?

Normal ppl sometimes borrow cash from a bank and pay them back later. Shorters 'borrow' shares (so they can sell them today) and 'repay' them later (after having bought them back). They do this is they think the sp will go down.

I hear you re MTFB. Sounds much more go big or go bust than EUA.

To me its worth noting that 2 million oz of Palladium (excluding flanks) was worth way more than EUA’s market cap a month ago. In fact it’s worth more than the current market cap.

Thanks for answering, Numbers. Looking at it objectively, leaving aside emotions/general feelings of wariness, do you see the 2 investments as having similar technical details?

BTW, this is not a deramp (check my previous posts for how I see EUA), but I think looking at these kinds of stories can be very instructive.

There's also a huge difference between "the sp will go down so don't buy" and "the sp has gone down so don't buy"

The first is a Mystic Meg wannabe. The second is stupid because it's obviously better to buy after the price has gone down than before (assuming you think the fundamentals are good).

I think some ppl do it because it's an easy way to look clever. Not be clever, just look clever.
