RE: Has anyone wondered why..16 Jun 2020 16:10
By which I mean your's was not a dumb question. It's only dumb when you don't ask. Whilst on the subject of, shall we say, "less than optimum behaviour" the market trade size of ALGW is 100,000 shares. If you trade anything other than the market size the MM's are not obliged to give you their bid or offer quote. There was a trade of 200,771 shares just after 2pm. Do you see what the MM's did to that person who wanted to sell? They clipped him for 9/1000ths of a penny. Not a lot you might say but if I opened your wallet and helped myself to £180 you'd not be pleased. Always get a quote for the market size first then ask for your required size and check if it's going to cost you. In thin trade, such as ALGW is in atm this is especially true, when things are busy, busy, you can get away with trading multiples. Here endeth lesson 101 :)
