The way to look at it is this... imagine yourself in 1-2 year's time. Coronavirus will slowly but surely be becoming a thing of the past and share prices will widely be on the up, on a prolonged, although possibly gradual, upward trajectory back to levels they were at before the pandemic started. Cineworld hit £3.19 on 3rd May 2019 - that's not that long ago and there's nothing to say we won't see those prices again at some point over the coming 2-5 years or so. The one thing is certain is that the world WILL bounce back from this. Just like it has done after every other major event in history, including world wars. The day will come when normality returns and hope and positivity is once again driving share prices higher. If you want to profit from that then you have to buy in during the height of the pandemic and wait it out. Its the hardest thing in the world to do when there's so much negativity around, but that's how the really big money is made. And the day will come when you'll be so glad you did because you'll never see these prices again once the recovery has begun.

The DOW is up, the FTSE is up and despite my earlier post about Disney that is also up... So quite why Cineworld is down today I have no idea other than mms wanting shares? There were £11m worth of buys on monday alone. Today's buys are also double that of sells - £4m buys versus £2m sells. Plus add to that a new broker rating of £1.40. MMs fishing for cheap shares I think.

Possibly Disney's results are having a knock on effect although I heard this morning on BBC news how they expect Disney to bounce back hard once the lockdowns ease because they're an exceptionally strong brand. We all know the share price is only going one way as we get closer and closer to cinemas reopening. It's just a case of loading up while the price is low and exercising a bit of patience. Fortunately we shouldn't have long to wait, it seems July is being pencilled in by a number of cinema chains as the target date for some kind of reopening. Cineworld should rapidly approach £1 a share as soon as an announcement is made that the doors will be opening shortly on such and such date, imo.

Home viewing will never replace cinema. They're kind of different markets, they complement eachother to a degree but watching movies at home will never replace going to the cinema. You can view multi million pound properties on rightmove that have their own cinema rooms - and even those don't compare to the real thing. Having a few spare million doesn't build you a real cinema experience, the screen will be smaller, the room will be smaller, it won't feel the same. And large screen tvs certainly aren't the same. Cinemas will be around for a very, very long time yet. And the fact is, and it is a fact, fans of cinema can't wait for the doors to open again.

I think you'll be surprised by just how keen people will be to return to the cinemas once they re-open. My local B&q has just reopened and the car park is consistently chokka full with people queueing all the way down the car park. Most people are getting fed up with the lockdown and want some kind of normality back. People are going to B&q partly just to get out of the house and do something, I've been in myself and many are just browsing they're not even buying. Finally, of all places a cinema is large enough and roomy enough to easily reopen and enforce social distancing. Cineworld is the world's 2nd largest cinema chain, it'll be back with a boom, no doubt about it. And there'll be a long line of top films to look forward to that'll guarantee money will soon be pouring back into their tills. Share price wise, this will soon be well over £1 imo just as soon as the doors reopen.

FTSE fell sharply first thing this morning but is currently bouncing back up hard. The drop was expected. It is once again due to Trump threatening China with tariffs over their handling of coronavirus. Good time to buy imo. Cinemas will be open soon enough, just hang in there the lockdown is slowly but surely coming to an end.
