Yeah I agree, just want it out the way tbh. The GIC sale was at least 20.5m shares. We've had a 10m sell and a couple of largish sells showing up after hours yesterday. I think there could be anything upto a further 10m sell left to clear tbh. As long as buys continue to outweigh sells as they are doing, we'll clear whatever is left very quickly. And we have to remember, the sp responds in an upwards direction when overhang is cleared - so appearance of these big sells is what we want to see, it's a positive not a negative.

There's still overhang left to clear. This morning I thought hmmm maybe it's gone, but it's now obvious it hasn't yet. There's clearly selling pressure still going on in the background that's stifling the rise and pushing it back down. Let's see what tomorrow brings - there can't be much left so a big rise should be due anytime.

Looking at the YTD chart, I think we could hit £1.20+ in the very near future, once the GIC overhang has cleared. There's been a lot of positive news recently so when the brakes finally do come off, which could be anytime now, I think the sp will really fly, easily topping the highs of recent weeks.

All of a sudden, the sp doesn't look so weighed down - overhang gone? Or just getting close to it?

Couple of biggish sells after hours could be more overhang clearing.

The primary thing that's holding the price down is the overhang. The sp is under a lot of selling pressure in the background. It's highly likely to clear sometime this week - then watch the sp rebound strongly, especially after today's RNS.

CCC, read back over the last few days posts. The lacklustre sp is due to a stock overhang. A 10m chunk was sold into the market on Friday causing the sp to briefly rise to 80p before easing back. Once it has completely cleared, most likely this week, the sp should rise sharply, probably into the mid to high 90s if not £1+ (and it probably won't take long to get there either imv). Things to look out for this week - one or two further large or very large sells (overhang clearing) and a sudden sharp upturn in the sp after many days of stagnation to new highs or at least highs not seen for quite some time (classic sign overhang has cleared).

There's been no social distancing during any of the so called "peaceful" protests either - and governments, police, mayors, media all are complicit in doing nothing to stop them going ahead. The widespread, wholesale abuse of social distancing measures by BLM protesters is on such a scale that any damage will have already been done. What happens or happened at a Trump rally after weeks of mass protests is pretty much an irrelevance in my opinion, as I say the damage has already been done, sure adding to it doesn't help but what's the point anyone observing social distancing anymore when you've got mass protests going on all the time?

I read in an article that if Cineworld decided to pull out of the Cineplex deal, a fee would be payable of £28.3m. But since Cineworld are saying it is Cineplex that breached the agreement, it may end up costing Cineplex not Cineworld. The sums involved aren't especially big so whatever happens its a relatively minor sideshow in the grand scheme of things that's unlikely to have any major effects on the share price.

Will do, have a great weekend also - next week is looking a lot better imo, don't want to jinx it but I'm fairly certain the overhang will be gone next week - today's big sell was a massive positive because it was a sizeable chunk and there can't be much left now.

You have to see today's big sell as a positive not a negative. Its just the stock overhang clearing. GIC reduced their holding by around 20.5m shares and those shares have to be sold back into the market. That kind of selling pressure causes the sp to stay in a subdued, depressed state for a number of days - until the overhang clears. Yes the sp may rise a bit but the overhang will quickly suppress it and push it back down again. The sp responded positively to today's big sell, as you would expect because a huge chunk of the overhang had been sold into the market, but the fact it soon fizzled and fell back down was probably because there's more overhang to clear. Once cleared, the sp will be free to shoot back up again - should be next week imo £1+

See last holdings RNS. GIC reduced their holding by 20.5m shares. A lot of companies have had to take some kind of action due to Covid-19 so it may well be they chose to liquidate part of their holding to release funds. It wasn't necessarily anything to do with Cineworld.

I don't think we're quite done with the overhang yet. Wouldn't be surprised to see one or two further sells (largish) after hours or early next week. Share price isn't acting the way you'd expect if the overhang was gone. Not yet anyway.

It's definitely the GIC overhang. Whether there's a bit more to come we'll have to wait and see but can't be much more of it left now. It's a good sign and the sp responded immediately.

It appears a huge £9m block of shares has been sold into the market - sells were £3m about an hour ago - they are now showing as £12m. Overhang is clearing rapidly which probably explains the rise?

Whilst many have been quick to moan about the sp just lately, it's actually a really big positive its held up as well as it has considering the 20m stock overhang. Once cleared, which really shouldn't take much longer, we're likely to see a sharp jump in the sp possibly to £1 or just over which could easily be achieved in just one day from the current price. Next week, in my view, will most likely be the week we see £1+ again because I think the overhang will be gone by wednesday at the latest (it might even clear today but I'm thinking it'll most likely be early next week). We have to remember, reopening is literally just around the corner and that horrible debt ridden Cineplex deal has been axed - both huge positives and probably due to the overhang the sp hasn't responded to any of that yet, but once it's cleared I suspect it will.

It's only strange to those who either haven't thought of, or can't be bothered to, read back a few posts! Everyone else knows exactly why the sp has been struggling just lately and are perfectly chilled about it.

Now that reopening is only a few weeks away, I think risk has greatly reduced from where it was. Cash will soon start flooding back in with a great line up of much anticipated movies to look forward to and no shortage of customers eagerly awaiting reopening (see Cineworld Twitter). In the short term we've got a 20m overhang to get rid of, much of which may already have been sold into the market so at most we might have a few more days of the sp being stuck in the doldrums before hopefully things get moving again and head back above £1, GL mate - and may the force be with us all.

Hi putmeonlist, yeah it's all good here. Its the perfect time to top up while the sp is being held back - it's a bit boring atm to look at but at least we've fathomed out what's going on. You're very welcome to have the rain btw got bloody soaked earlier good for the garden though I suppose!
