RE: Goldman Sachs downgrade Netflix from Hold to Sell10 Jun 2022 16:24
If they win the appeal, assuming the share price is still around 25p, could see 50p or more in a matter of days. Lose the appeal and I think sub 10p could be seen. 25p is somewhere in the middle of those outcomes, about where it should be imo. I agree world events will be amplifying the bearish share price movement, but even if the Ukraine situation wasn't happening, concerns over the legal tussle with Cineplex would still be weighing heavily on the share price. If they win the appeal, I strongly suspect the buying will return in earnest and the share price will really begin to respond. Because cinema is bouncing back strongly, as are the movie production companies, and provided the company comes away from the Cineplex mess relatively unscathed, enough cash is going to be flooding back into the business that debt is going to become less and less of a problem as time goes on. I'm not brave (or mad enough imo) to risk buying cine at the current price ahead of the outcome of the appeal. I'll wait and see what happens first before deciding whether or not to take a position. If they win the appeal and there's an opportunity to buy at under 50p, i think many will determine its a good long term punt - fingers crossed they will win the appeal and the recovery here can properly get underway.
