Would they run this trivial trial in-house, I would expect they would outsource this type of work all the time as it requires no specialist knowledge of the companies drugs.

Likewise it could signal an interest in SNG.

What it does show is they have an interest in these viral infections and quantifying it’s impact.

The way the news was released by SNG clearly indicates it’s a redistribution of paid for resources to execute a trial in conjunction with Southampton.

We will benefit by receiving data to help focus the development of SNG001 and a reduction in our wage bill. Janssen will benefit by receiving that same data.

That data will:
- Inform on the prevalence of respiratory viruses
- Inform on the severity of the symptoms in the patient pool
- Inform on the progression of symptoms and likelihood of severe adverse events

Sizing the potential market for SNG001 and or any drugs they have in development.

Brand - I remember with clarity my post you’ve just not understood it in it’s entirety. That’s exactly what they are doing but by sizing the market of SNG they are also sizing the market for whatever drugs they and others may have in the pipeline.

Universal will build a very scientifically useful data set.

Also note the absence of any agreement pre-universal to tie up rights for SNG001.

Will be interesting to see what moves are made prior to Universal completion.

Critical assessment of the downside to your capital invested is fundamental as is the correct management of your exposure to risk across your portfolio.

Balanced discussions about the downside risks and potential delays etc is far more constructive than speculation on the upside.

If you manage the risk exposure the upside is taken care of.

Mani - Think you are overplaying the Janssen thing. Re-read the statement seems like SNG found a way to utilise their clinical staff at Southampton so effectively they are off payroll for a period of time, (which is good for our cash burn).

The tie up is mainly between Prof Wilkinson the Uni and producing a data set which will be of scientific interest.

If SNG collapsed mid trial those trial nurses could continue as contractors for the Janseen trial with no issue. (Not suggesting SNG will collapse by the way)

Doc83 - Fair point too, good reminder that whilst we all have a shared interest in the success of SNG we have very different experiences and entry points, which can form the basis of opinion.

Doc83 - Slow down a minute SNG has offered fantastic returns for investors and was one of the best companies to be invested in during the pandemic.

There have been plenty of opportunities to make money in this share even in the past 12months.

If you take a look at other small biotech stocks you will find few that faired better than SNG and many that are rock bottom or out of business.

I get the feeling many here do not understand that nature of investing in biotech or the timescales involved in such investments.

Mani - tad optimistic on results for 2023. Not sure I see any trial that is not yet recruiting delivering results in 2023.

Given the strength of SNG’s data we should be able to use play a really strong hand.

The right trial of JV is the opportunity that has pre-order volumes written into the terms.

Doc83 - Their latest trades have been more aggressive than previously. They’ve played when the volume allows it.

Tommy - If you look at polys buying style the most obvious period for them to accumulate the first 4.5% is late October early November.

You also have to factor in what they achieved by hedging their position along the way which there is evidence to show they did this.

I think it’s safe to assume their average is south of £1 you seem to think it’s slightly north.

I don’t think it really matters. What they have achieved is they are the most important player more important than the board.

Anyway my second point which you chose to ignore is they seem less bothered about price now.

Which is a good sign.
