My turn to Muse30 Jan 2021 12:36
So, while I wait for Strudel to make sure the fire alarms don’t go off and the burgers don’t get burned, thought it was my turn to do some musings!
Wow! What? How? Who? Why? Where? and Wow again! What a couple of months! And what a couple of weeks!
GGP became the darling of AIM and possibly the whole stock market in the last year. This in turn brought us a new range of investors, all through the year at different times, with different budgets and different strategies. All are obviously welcome, but not all will be happy at all times.
To put in perspective what has happened in these last two months we could use so many similes or metaphors but a simple one would be “when it rains, it fracking pours!”
Within these two month we’ve been hit harder than a two tonne truck crashing through the wall of a glass factory. Gervaise leaving and Sean Day arriving (hoping in the long run this is a good thing) - Late essays, in which the positivity (even from us LTH’s) was pushed so far to that cliff edge (we were all getting ready to believe that we could fly) that we managed to drag even more newbies and rainbow chasers into GGP. Then BAM! Scally dropped and it was like a tornado ripping through the straw house the first little pig built! We settled and then without warning (well, some people new about it obvs) the WallStreetBets revolution happens and the proverbial caca hits not only the standalone fan, but also the airplane engine behind it and everybody scatters. There is so much happening in the world right now and we are still sitting pretty at 24p after our year! All this culminated in the last week to throw us all off our game, but stay strong and stay long.
Now, if you’re a share investor, sit back relax and don’t worry. Try and enjoy the ride as it will come back and go even higher (how high who knows?). Don’t worry, it will be worth it. However, if you are leveraging (which I tried and failed years ago) - then obvs you’re not as happy, be careful and keep an eye on your margins! If you can afford the drop, then you have nothing to worry about! If you can’t, then you should have bought shares instead.
We have gold! We are going mining! We have lots of gold! We’re definitely going mining! Grades keep coming, Copper keeps growing and Newcrest are still flying like Cole Trickle down the racetrack. As other more experienced than me have said already, “all we need is a little patience”. And in mining terms 2-3 years is not even classed as patience!
And the more our nearology neighbours miss, the more valuable Havieron becomes to Newcrest! Just breathe in, read the facts, trust in your instincts, ignore the trolls and smile. This is (eventually) only going one way! GLA, BOL and Sit on those hands.
