The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
The Relevant part of the article. Just minor speculation.
“As gold mining consolidation continues apace, the other deal some believe will play out over the medium term is an acquisition by Northern Star of the $2.5bn De Grey Mining.
Northern Star’s first priority is rebuilding the processing plant of the Super Pit gold mining asset that it owns, but after that attention will likely turn to De Grey.
Which is why many found its presence at Newcrest’s Telfer mine and Havieron processing facility on a site visit in recent weeks curious.
Northern Star sources say it has no interest in Telfer, but it’s very close to De Grey’s assets, so perhaps it was there while on a De Grey site visit as well, determining whether gold could be processed there.“

Good little video with interesting Telfer and Paterson insights.
Apologies if it has already been posted….
That seems cheap as chips to me…maybe we’ll get a similar deal ;-)
I managed to see the latest Berenberg report. It was just a small update. There wasn’t any real new info in it except the mention of the delay of the PFS to late 2024 and first ore to 2025, which probably led to them dropping their price. Nothing major.
That would only work for the retail market Naylor and to be fair to SD, he has said that for us to grow we need to get away from the retail market and move to institutions. The last thing we need is another massive influx of ‘quick profit’, ‘short term’ retail investors.
I think people are forgetting we’re no longer really what you would call an ‘AIM minnow’. Director buys for a few grand won’t do anything to a company valued today at nearly £400m. How much do people expect the directors and board to buy that will actually help the SP right now? It would need a lot of cash lying around. Does Twiggy’s massive Wyloo investment not count? That’s way above and beyond anything you could ask for from a CEO or board member to buy.
Look at all the big companies. The staff work for options and free shares. It’s just the way of life when you’re trying to move away from being a ‘small company’. As long as I can see progress in the company and improvement in fundamentals, there really is not much else I can ask for. Plus we have had the whole ‘biggest merger in mining history’ to deal with. I say we’ve come out the other side ok so far. Lots still to do but we’re heading in the right direction. Seatbelts on folks…probably more bumps and potholes to overcome.
Echo…
Ok folks…own up…which one of you GGP’ers owns the above license plate number. I tip my cap to you 🤣👍
Loving all the optimism around at the moment and with loads of news in the horizon, let’s hope they go our way.
Hopefully this is the start of the next precious metals sector cycle and maybe the markets getting back to a bit of normality after all the covid craziness. But let’s stop talking about shorters “losing their shorts” - since our highs that have clearly made enough to buy thousands of pairs, so losing a couple here and there now seems like grasping at straws for me.
Let’s just enjoy the new ride we are on and hopefully it’s a good one…
This is the more interesting announcement today by Antipa. Thousands of RC and DD metres of drilling ongoing with a constant stream of results due Mid-December all the way to February. Our sleeping giants of a neighbour hopefully waking up at the same time a GGP is.

Another good interview. The geologist came across really well too. Nice to see more faces of the company.
“Multi-faceted” - don’t you just love that word? Shaun does…😎
Let’s not go down the route of 1000 messages again on whether to vote yes or no to certain resolutions. Happens every time. 🤦♂️
Vote YES for everything and let them get on with their jobs.
$500-600m!!! Absolute Bargain!! And with a bit of Harry’s front seat window wheeling and dealing I reckon we could get that down even more…
Still way too many posts on this board considering nothings happening yet 😂
Haha, good to see Teeling has managed to get his Lithium play finally…👍
Haha yeah, reads a bit like he’s depressed about it all 🤣
You’re right with regards to mcap deserttrader but I was thinking more specifically about gold producers. Rio have always been more Iron Ore orientated.
Yeah, not sure why Rio seem to be held in such high regard. Newmont are bigger and in my eyes more professional too. Would rather work with them.
My perfect scenario though would be us hitting something juicy at Ernest Giles and then swapping 100% of that for 100% of Telfer and Havieron with Newmont 👍
The Sigma deal? Don’t see any correlation to us…unless it’s just down to Glencore spending money for new deals?
Anyone with any idea what’s caused this? We got news due here or group eleven maybe?
De Grey has pretty much same mcap as Perseus without any production, yes they own 100% but they also need a processing plant. That’s why I prefer the comparison.
