Leave off Culpepper. The Return on investment relates to everything. Getting only 2% back is not good sense if you have large sums of money invested, in ANY walk of life, when there’s better “guaranteed returns” elsewhere. A simple bond will give you more. But you get no possible upside from that, so as I said, it all depends on the individuals ‘current value’ and risk profile.
In terms of Havieron, I’m gonna go back to something I said a few years ago. If Havieron, and it’s looking likely, is indeed a 20m+ oz mine…then I stand by my belief that it needs its own processing plant! The costs of moving that ore 40km+ for 20-40 years seems stupid to me. It made sense when GGP was a minnow explorer with only 30% ownership and no revenue. Now that GGP could in theory produce 3/4/500.000ozs per year with just Telfer, then I go back to the idea of building Hav it’s own plant. The cost savings of doing this over the timeline it would take to “empty” Hav by trawling it 50km everyday would be decades. What a waste of a 20moz ore body. Telfer is set for the next 10 years minimum, without Hav, so why the hell not go all out attack and use those Telfer proceeds to build another ‘streamlined to suit’ processing plant at Havieron?!? Permits/license/timing etc will all be similar due to haulage road etc to Telfer anyway. It just needs a simple road to link the staff infrastructure from Telfer to Havieron, so the workers get there and back. Build a perfect plant to process Hav ore right there, including the bulk mining X years down the line.
Now GGP owns two mines, running hell for leather producing anything between 400koz-1moz per annum!!!
Food for thought…?
