I hold RDSB exclusively in a Halifax Self-Select Shares ISA, so I thought I would check this out & they have logged my vote. Brilliant! Shell, becoming an exclusively British Company - easy decision!

Smithy - The Netherlands and the United Kingdom have a double taxation convention and protocol for the avoidance of double taxation. The agreement was signed on September 26 2008 and was entered into force on 25 December 2010.

You need to pursue this with the IRS.

NQM - You are absolutely right, this is really massively positive for Shell. Re-branding, re-positioning in the market, embracing and recognising dramatic change, re-directing the company, shaking off the shackles of the past! Soon Shell will be outside the jurisdiction of the Dutch courts, apart from its continuing presence in Holland. Soon they will have as much influence on Shell policy as Jules Holland!

Perhaps the Dutch courts will realise that they cannot easily dictate policy to global multi-nationals like Shell, or they might just opt for changing the playing field. Behind the scenes lengthy discussions will have taken place with the British Government to check their stance on dictating policy to the big oil companies. The Dutch Government having lost Unilever only a year ago, might start to realise that losing big multi-nationals is becoming a pattern of events for them!

This will send shock-waves through any multi-nationals thinking of re-locating or head-quartering in Holland. It is also a massively positive step for the UK. And it is a Dutchman directing this seismic change. This is the biggest news on Shell yet, although doubtless some will not be able to see it!

As this dissipates Dark shares will start moving up again. The AGM & ML news will be big influencers, already looming into sight. Dark will probably be pulling out all the stops to launch Prevent at the AGM, or at least give a date of launch, rather than having a launch clouded by the general noise around Christmas & New Year festivities! This will be a big positive boost in the very near future.

For me launching Prevent this year will be a massive boost for Dark's product offerings. Using the Castle analogy from earlier in this Board, defenders do not want to let the attackers in and then deal with them internally using Auntie Gina! They ideally want to keep them out of the company systems in the first place, and then deploy Auntie Gina in cases of emergency when the attack breaks through the Prevent defences.

Some really good posts. My view of ML's position, is yes he is a billionaire so presumably has little need of the money from a sale of his shares. Unless he is say given the opportunity to say pay a big fine in the US, without being extradited. It looks increasingly to me like a face saving, nobody loses too much, bargain might be struck between the US and UK. The current situation is an acute embarrassment to the Courts, politicians and financial infrastructure of both the US and UK - it demands swift resolution& that means compromise.

If he sells, whilst under intense scrutiny, surely this would open him up to accusations of attempting to hide capital. Probably his ideal situation is to prove his innocence - after all his contention remains that he is innocent. If his innocence is proven, I would surmise that Darktrace would welcome him back with open arms, and if he kept faith and his shares he would have to be given a Board position.
