look like a bit of a beat on initial inspection. Divi up as expected. Still low cover and debt rising but more slowly then growth maybe. Market expected to be off a tad from the start will this follow. I wonder what impact the buyback has had?

With the appointment of SB and a move to more mobile and online trading, why is the Debenhams website so out of date? Maybe all the efforts are going on the front end for shoppers and they are too busy to update the new store page to add Stevenage. It opens in a couple of months and maybe they think people will just trip over it. Make you wonder what else is not being updated

I'm surprised UK PLC hasn't got an investment arm to benefit from long term growth and income. Then again you need to have some money in the pot to buy to begin with. Tax payers shouldn't have to have PFI type loans to fund hospitals and schools it should come out of the tax take from a balanced book. In theory future divis should grow faster discounting NG. being nationalised. Remember though you will have less of them, so in cash terms compared to last year it will appear to be less. You will have some cash from the deal so could buy back the ones consolidated and be back where you were .... again discounting tax issues, dealing fees and any post deal SP changes. Post deal a stronger company and buy back should mean SP rises higher too but then SP's dont always follow theories. Additionally, how much has the SP risen in anticipation of "A massive windfall dividend"

Again a mixed bag but it looks like things are generally improving and a divi increase is most welcome. Looks like FCF wont actually cover the divi so is that a miss?. We will forget the fact the Vod's FCF excludes a few things like spectrum. Spectrum average was 1.2Bn so its a heft chunk on the FCF figure (was that £ or $ I suspect it should be euros now) India might now have passed its low and the UK approaching its low so hopefully the outlook should improve along with the dividends. We tend to look closer to home at Voda which might skew our outlook. Debt still an issue but not overly concerning atm but we dont want another India in europe. Will this be nationalised in the UK or will it just be BT! SP up 4% will it level off a tad tomorrow? Still those recent buys will improve the income for this year and now I have a bigger safety margin. So collect the (bigger) divi and wait for the next dip .

Yes GSK has been struggling and the U turn over the special divi didn't go down well but its all about its ability to grow into its bigger shoes over time. Will they prefer to cut the divi to do the deal Spikeyj highlights and then move to a progressive divi after that? I suspect that the Brokers will look after themselves whilst trying to help their customers and dont really care about you or me and why would they?. Deutsche Bank have a sell rating with a 540 target (is that really an upgrade cos it was 475?) so if you believe that then it makes sense to sell. questioner, you might get more than 3% but that three month time frame puts you in the middle of the "Sell in May" period. I expect a lot more volatility then. After Christmas shares tend to be on the up generally so if I was thinking of selling, I might look around then but you do what you have too and as long as your happy that is all that matters. I just didn't want you to be wrong due to incorrect maths and or wrong assumptions. There are many day traders who sell as soon as a profit target is achieved but for me a three month time period is not that long if I wanted the cash. There is of course the risk of another big drop in SP if say a competitor announced cheaper terms or TALK had another black swan issue. Market up today and dragging TALK with it so we might have a good weekend. ATB

Monthly its 0.38% (just divide the annual by 12, from previous answer) Your assumptions are totally wrong and your getting heady with those high returns that don't actually exist. Your real return will be a mix of SP and divi over your timeframe held and relating to a savings rate will also depend on what savings rate you can get. Your yield (on sum invested) is dependent on the buy price not what it changes to later. Hopefully over time dividends increase and your running yield increases with it.
