4 yes 4 shares bought at 1,496p on the buyback dated 11/11/2016 @ 11:03:40. Not really looked at how they would implement the buyback but only four shares seems a waste of trading fee. They may have paid a fixed fee for the broker to carry out the task in a preset way of course. There were some bigger buys too but this one caught my eye. I bet I could have spend a special divi much better or at least wasted it having fun on wine women and song! I'll just have to console myself that my holdings will be worth more than before the announcement and that in future there will be more money in the pot to increase my dividends and pay down debt later.

Must have some sentimental attachment or some very happy memories that nightie or she got caught running to the loo without it. That chambermaid seems to have a lot to answer for. I take it they dont make or sell em anymore otherwise snap one up in the next blue cross sale. What does next week hold for Debs cos I dont have a clue but shopping days till crimbo getting less

SP has lost more than 50p anyway, they might luck in and time it right to actually buy lower. Spending 0.5Bn on shareholders is still eye catching whichever way they do it. Apart from some tax advantages a special divi would be my preferred option and it stops the board bonus for doing nothing.

ITwizz, Its getting to be one of only a few department stores and its not the only one struggling. Lets hope its online part keeps growing and behind the move for the new man. I think it is starting to switch what it sells and the way it sells them. Cant stand still anymore. Its not risk free but hopefully there is some reward at this price

You make a good point A58, still one eye over the shoulder looking at the politicos. Yes I picked out the bad parts but also commented on the divi going up. You seem happy that the SP will rise to 1650. Im not so sure I want SSE the investing machine to be buying at those levels right now (or in the near future) How much of that buyback will end up getting wasted, like many do. The latest metrics look poor at first glance. EPS, profit down debt and divi up. Its a good job I'm in here for the divi then .... it looks like the only bright spot and more increases expected. Hopefully they can change some of those metrics sooner rather than later. Oh and Trump has declared. Markets might be funny today

I think its still Brexit concerns and that property can't be sold quickly if there are lots of withdrawals. Some funds stopped trading for a few months but are back online now or installed exit fees to try and reduce people trying to exit. This has less London weighting so probably less affected
