I hope you have a tight stop loss set. It might come good if the market falls but this should be more of a steady eddie really and a divi date coming soon. Why did you think it was going to fall further? I dont short myself, the nearest is actually selling something and I considered selling a few months back when it was 940 ish but was away I think at the time and dont like dealing on my phone unless I can help it. Hindsight says I would have been right to sell but that goes against my desire to have growing divis and a bigger PF. You also have to find another home for the money and often just sitting on your hands works ok. As for more buys than sells, Im not really sure, maybe a fund manager wants to off load a chunk and tips the wink.

Doing a little digging there is some noise indicating its going to the fighting fund. Debt cuts reduced and a threat to the divi too all to build a war chest for the new direction. This might be to improve stores into experiences and wow places to visit and also attracting the younger shoppers to become the next batch as the current one move on. I know there was a program of upgrades and new stores that improved sales and online followed the increase in the area also. Not sure how to view this. I like a divi and debt being cuts, so will need to be convinced if this is the way forward. Is the divi going to be a short term miss for one year or a re-base.

After Queeny's positive comments on Debs flowers I was reading an article in the Guardian over a complaint about none delivery over Xmas. Now I suppose a one off event is not indicative of real issues but the article mentioned the "volume on social media" It could have been a last minute and scale issue thing or an issue with one particular courier, I dont know who Debs use.

Something fishy seems to be going on. After the sale announcement I considered getting back in then remembered the management haven't changed. So from the jaws of victory it looks like some sort of mess reappearing. Although that shouldn't surprise me. Glad my monkey brain waved the red flags at the time and stopped me. At least I can console myself with the knowledge that the remuneration committee will cut the boards pay and bonuses by 5.5% too, even thought it wasn't their fault and that they will to taking legal advice on clawing back some previously issued bonuses to the wrong sort of people who's fault it was. After all we are all in this together for both risk and reward !!!

I cant get over it quickly as my divis will be reduced for half a decade. Therefor I will earn less, pay less tax and not help increase funding for the NHS, education et al. So someone somewhere will end up less educated and being too thick will hurt themselves and spend too long in casualty waiting on a trolley and die. Yep, giving away 5.5 percent of the value of the company, the innocent shareholders will once again save the guilty from a stint in prison. I'm totally happy with that, not! All the good work East has done looks to have been wasted with this. I suppose its a known unknown now and some figures to add to guidance but the fcf was supposed to be zero to - £-300 add that he under estimates and over delivers and it might not look as bad as it could have done but that fine would be better in my pocket and spent on bus fares to visit the odd ex RR consultant in the pokey.

Sods Law also says when all of your dry power has been spent on a good buy, a really great opportunity will then appear. Of course it would never have appeared if you have just waited. appleby's Buffet observation will have to do for those of us that are not lucky enough to have the opportunity, means and resolve all lined up like ducks.

Dinoken, I assume that you think lower FX rates will be good for RR. I would check that impression as they are hedged on currency and I cant remember how long for. I hope someone else might remind us or check the last update for details. So no gain for some time until its worked through and by then who knows where FX rates will be. Of course the hedging was to aid a worse case scenario in case it went the other way I cant answer your last question as you have to decide, FX and hedging would only be a small part of my decision making as there is not much the company can do about these things. Whereas the savings and efficiency going on as described by some of the investors who work there should help in the longer term.

Prince, thank you very much for your efforts and typing skills. 2021 is quite a while away and I think the regulator will be re assessing water bills again in 2020, which they flew through on the last round. Viridor has had mixed results but hopefully on the up now. Add that to water efficiencies and a bit of inflation thinks should be ok. I suppose the bond proxy/Trump thing could hurt or is that has hurt now we are down here. Inflation could work against them too if its too aggressive cos there is debts to pay I take it your happy with IC, I found them hit and miss, like most places. HL used to cherry pick some of their articles and I started to track HL's IC buys n sells to see how they fared but there was no real definitive conclusion. Did find some snippits of info useful though and did buy some of their recommendations but think it was just conformation bias as I had already pick them to buy.

Just tried to access the IC article and you do have to pay. It appears the said buy when it was over 800. This is below 200 day avg now and close to yearly lows. I suppose it could get dragged lower with a market fall but there should be some resistance support at these levels.

So trading up, margins have been held and sale stock reduced. Debt guidance has not changed so where the spare cash going? Hopefully on divis but I suspect it being swallowed by a mix of cost headwinds and Mr Bucher fighting fund. Well it wont be too long before were told. Nice to have those options available though.

The second interm divi announcement. Just noticed that it had been paid. Not been paying close enough attention as these have been doing well of late. I was hoping for a divi bump so might have to wait a bit longer than planned to see that now until the divi payment dates get back to normal post takeover

30% of my holding. Nothing to do with how they are trading more to do will how well my PF is doing and its balance. MRW was getting too big (nice problem to have) so either I bought more of something else well a few something else's or sell some of this. With the market toppy its difficult to find real bargains so this had to give. I did top op another share but it made little difference to the percentage of this. Well now the PF is better balanced, it has room to buy some more (should MRW fall) and I had shares in x3 different brokers which was not ideal now its just x2. Need to decide at what price to add more and which should be the master broker to get it all in one.

Well I think its down to many things including how to value it. Accounting rules are changing as its going to make RR. look a lot worse, on paper anyway. They cant book engine service until the works done and will have to book the engine sale at the time so it will look like they are loosing a couple of £m every time with no corresponding income. OK that will change in time but lots dont want to wait for a return. (They sell at a loss and make the profit on the care) Add to that fcf is negative, divis have been cut and the POO has been working against RR and FX hedging wont help with a lower £ for some time there are many headwinds. It also relying on core products and events like the Qantas Flight 32 that suffered an uncontained engine failure could have a big impact should something like that happen again not only on the bottom line but on the reputation which is probably more important. The bit of diversification is also not going well. Im sure I dont have to talk of the positives as your already buying so you can see a bit further up the road but I suspect it might have elongated a tad with all these wrinkles.

Not sure about finishing 800 on the day, Sods Law say it must fall more because Ive just bought. As for skyrockets, I'm not sure what your seeing but I'd be happy to have that 6% running yield in a few years time. Lets see what early Feb brings
