Chaps at Midatech issuing RNS today for new equity for allotment of 50,000 new ordinary shares for employee incentive plan. That shows a "huge vote of confidence" regarding the future of this company. If management didn't have a strong balance sheet and good news to release potentially soon, then what would the purpose in issuing new shares in the first place? Correct there wouldn't be a purpose to issue the equity because there wouldn't be any rewards coming, if there wasn't a solid plan in place. While the market continues to be spooked and sell off at every little equity increase. I read that as a solid vote of confidence and continue to add to my position during this rare opportunity. Woodford and Legal have far greater insight than I and they felt positive about investing millions so I can follow that lead. GDT, I suspect on most accounts your assessment is fairly accurate. I too agree that getting Balboa up to snuff and paying for the corrective actions relating to the impurities on the production line was a financial hit. Your accounts of Jim comments as related to debt restructure, and other parties interest are indeed spot on. With regards to forthcoming news I agree that news of studies and debt facility will all be coming before end of year. That alone is reason I continue to add here at or below 50p as news get released the SP will climb and the sooner I can get above water myself. I have a far size lot and averaging lower while I can makes sense as I am sure news will float us higher and besides senior management wants to get their salaries back in place, so I suspect a pretty swift bounce upward here soon and that will help my average by adding more here. Woodford and L&G didn't blink twice about it so that portends good for me and my lot...Good luck all G-I...

All anticipated new position holdings in company are now being posted to public. As a result of the Hargreave acquisition CANACCORD has reduced their position substantially while Woodford and Legal and General have increased their position. Legal and General looks as if they potentially took up the slack from Hargreave in the private placement or rather additional percentages to nearly equate to CANACCORD selling out theirs in the standard open market. The new total share count is roughly 61 million, and this is still a very small float to have when positive news hits. Plus of that 61 million nearly 60% of that is held private by Woodford, CANACCORD, L&G and others which leaves a smaller amount in the actual float. Given some good news like, equity financing being approved or IND or anything relative to positive news and the share price will pop higher. On the future looking into 2018 I'd suspect that we'll see this 50p was a rare opportunity to have gotten additional shares on the low. Heard management was in the states meeting with investment firms, find that very interesting move.... let's see some action.

Hi Nilplused and I read your review as well and yes we have radically differing opinions of the future of Midatech. A couple of key points I will make on the board decision and private placement as I follow this firm very closely and noted that something was off earlier in the summer months. Now having said that I believe that the recent shift in focus and one time restructuring has positioned the company for future successes and here's reasoning behind that. For one my Hypotheses around downsizing the board is a strategic move in many ways. First it cuts costs and improves efficiency in their operations. Secondly a small governing board that engages in ongoing, open, two-way communication with its major holders & supporters is seen as far more democratic and trusted. Now the open offer was not well accepted as there is pessimism within the common shareholder ranks. However private placement was 100% successful, and so their belief that this 17 year old company is on the cusp of dramatic growth opportunities. The reason I find it interesting that Woodford an Legal & General continued to support the company is not because it would fold otherwise, but rather the bright not bleak future. Otherwise why would these private investors throw good money after bad? as that approach makes no logical sense. Next I see the continued share selling as a result of one private investment firm getting out of a large 1.6 million share tranche as they were bought out by another. Once this subsides which was probably this week, then the SP should begin uptrend to the range that N1-Singer just announced. Finally I will say that management and the board has announced on-going talks with current and other lenders for funding that is non equity based in order to support business operations which should be announced in the coming weeks. These lenders are not going to lend capital to a failing business that would go under by mid 2018 no way and if anything Midatech probably has to watch out for larger pharma taking them over or private again. In conclusion I'd say that with a portfolio amassed of dozens upon dozens of patents plus a production factory and several offices in three different countries, this small international pharma not only has a future but once non-dilutive funding is secured in the coming weeks which will provide capital for 2018, and soon revenue generating stateside business, coupled with progression of three key pipeline products which should be announced In the coming weeks you got the makings for a quick turn upward in share price and longevity for the company. That is key reasons why Woodford an Legal & General continue to support them that and the bosses took a pay cut until the turn. I've been investing for 30 years and over that time I've come to learn a thing or two about following professional investment firms as they often know more than the public & that's why I'm not overly concerned about the failure of the publ

Now that the resolution to add 12 million shares at 50p has passed the next steps are to register and add the shares to the float. That increases the float to 61 million from 49 million. Not much interest from the general public as only 7% of the open offer was accepted and most of those were from the directors and management. The next step is to fund the clinical work, release some positive news and get the company moving in the right direction again. My guess is that some sort of "major news" will be released in the coming days/weeks once the dust has settled and the books are closed on the private offering. Any other thoughts out there??

Well Totalnew I know everyone is entitled to his/her opinions and frustrations are at a high right now. The DARA buy was pretty strategic and got the company a depth of established sales force, and business in the states and listing on NAZ for a fairly minimal cost. I tend to think that was a strategic win for the company, but yes with minimal funds you can do so much. The funds used to test the insulin strip, that was not a good decision, and true the company has "re-focused" on core programmes now and I think headed in the right direction. This next 8 million will have to produce some tangible results or else the company could be in a very weak position. They've got to execute and quickly and get the SP back up to a reasonable range. I'd like to see the SP in the 210p - 250p range as I believe that's fair when they produce something concrete. The sales force over in the states is poised to sell, what must be done now is get the clinical behind us and an approved product to market.

Grandadtom, I'd suspect and hope that 2018 will be the year that the company transforms into profitable, and has IND approval for MTX110 and making $$ for the loyal shareholders and backers of this story. I feel that this is a smart group, well versed and talented. They slipped and now have a chance to prove themselves. Let's see what happens next week in the Special Meeting and more important is the news following the meeting. Get those clinical tests going and get the shareholders and financial backers back in supporting the company. Get it right this time, as you probably won't be able to get more funding without significant progress. The board knows what must be done, and the tough decisions that have to be made. Let's see some progress now..

The fact that some are selling at 50pence is somewhat telling. It would seem that selling will continue until the approval during the special general meeting. As far as management losing a portion of their pay well that sends a message.. A significant portion of my shareholding has also been wiped out so management needs to understand that this type of leadership can't be tolerated. It is unclear at this point as to what level of performance the board will require from management to reinstate their pay. It does say something about the long term viability of the company as N. Woodford put up another substantial lot of money and my belief is that he wouldn't do so if it was simply going to be a loss. What is sounds like to me as a simple investor is an unplanned mistep. Management now has to correct this and move forward and prove to the shareholders that this mistep has been resolved and the company as a whole is profitable and proving themselves as viable and secure. Management you have some work to do so let's get started.

Did anyone on this board attend or listen to the conference call? Other than the normal financial info were there any relative remarks or questions prompted from investors as to why they ran out of money? Why they didn't allocate properly for the US side or an explanation as to what the one-time charge was for regarding the reorganization ?

Of all investors on this board I alone suspected something was terribly wrong. I commented numerous times on the " odd and uncharacteristic" action of this summer with constant selling and no news. Nothing not a word from management and worst of all other holders being allowed to get out and reduce their exposure to pending news and losses. I will not comment on my own personal disappointments. But will say that mismanagement of the company to this degree and extent were certainly noted by all. I've nothing positive to say at all, therefore I won't comment further.

Leftos, not a problem and glad to share. One would have to think that logically someone was selling at small increments daily, and in large volume over time. Seeing that HH reduced their holdings by a full percentage point from 6.1 mil shares it became quite clear where this dumping came in, and the timing was rotten and caused delays in the reporting. Why report good news only to have the stock bleed out over the coming months, so if my logic holds we should hopefully see a reversal but time will tell, and I was loading during those times so perhaps my gamble pays off as I seen know other bad news to warrant the decline other than selling due to that HH acquisition.

So through some on-line review I was able to determine that Hargreave Hale was acquired by Cannaccord Genuity and as a result of their disclosure I could determine that their holdings in Midatech decreased by over 500,000 shares since last reported owner recorded date of 6/30. Therefore I can easily see who the seller has been dumping 1,000 share lots hour by hour day by day. I assume they either had to lighten to load as a precursor to the sale or something, but that is your source of stock dumping "Hargreave Hale" (HH). Now that they've been acquired maybe the damn selling will cease. Let's see .....Good luck into next week, and I also bet (my own opinion) that that exactly the reason that Midatech waited to release their Interim results. They must've known that HH was dumping and was going to continue dumping until the completion and closure of the acquisition. Now the dumping is over we can return to business as usual...I hope anyway.

At current rate of decline 2% - 5% daily we will reach $0.00p in approx 34 more trading sessions. No word from AIM sponsor nor management. Now down from AIM $178.00p to $75.00p in bizarre free fall over the past few months. Good luck to all, really hope that someone addresses this matter during the Interim conference call as shareholders concerns should be voiced and addressed. Stateside ADR's following same actions would appear, so again no word , no explanation and no comments. I'm going to the pub for a pint of stout, this is just too bizarre, of course all in my own humble opinion.

32,349 shares traded and each one was a sell order. This resulted in another day in the red and down another 5% the trend continues day in & day out. Is no one here mindful or at least concerned? I may be foolish but I bought more today and last week, so let's see what happens. I am either one shrewd buyer or one dumb sucker, but I believe in the company and Jim as a solid leader. I feel that this action is either one company just liquidating their position and doing so before Q3 expiration or it could be shorts were piling in and then will cover and get out before release of Interim's. Or who knows the multitude of possibilities as to the real reason, but we should find out as this needs to be a topic at the Interim discussions by one of the paid analyst. Down 5% a day for no apparent reason lacks fundamental understanding.

With an investors presentation over drinks a mere two days away and interim results just over a week, its odd how the daily selling continues, and just a slow deliberate bleed-out but why? It's painfully obvious that someone wants out, and is willing to liquidate over the past months. Again why? Also the six months ended 30 June 2017 interim is not being released and commented on until Thursday 28 September 2017, which is a full quarter later, and why? I mean if you had excellent news to post and good numbers get it out there. I truly hope that Panmure and other analyst ask these questions as to why the delays in reporting and why the continued drop in SP. My gut tells me there's something under the waters that needs to surface or there is some pending acquisition looming that will increase or bloat the share count. Now that the US side no longer requires monetary support the company can go out buy something with the extra funds. Maybe also there is a Major looming around as some suggest and looking to get in on the cheap, pushing it down shorting in order to buyout cheap. Go figure, but this entire summer has been strange and off-balance with prior periods. Grandadtom on August 23rd talked about some interesting views and again on Sept 7th about delays for the 28th....Well we're "Intrigued as well" here at the George-Inn. Just to be clear that comment regarding the rehearsed presentation lacking enthusiasm is meant in the most kindest way. I am truly excited with the progress, and I know its not easy presenting to an audience on a subject that you're so well versed in. I can't wait to see the interim results and launch of the clinical trials for DIPG and Liver, 2018 should be both pivotal and growth year. Jim I am grateful that you're at the helm leading the way..

Grandadtom, yes I listened to the presentation and commentary closely. Look I will say that Jim does a good job representing the company, its ideas, strategy and direction. Having said that he's so well versed in the subject matter that the presentation seems, rehearsed and lacks enthusiasm. I am excited and felt a true joy to know that one little girl is alive and doing well being treated under compassionate use. MTX110 holds true promise, but the daunting task of obtaining regulatory compliance is momentous. The level of effort necessary to build just one successful product that can deliver $20 - $50 million in revenue is seemingly overwhelming. Jim and his team both here and in the U.S. can't be commended enough for their hard work and effort, and it's going to take a while to mature. So the strange trades of late don't seem to be tied to any specific cause or failure of product. The U.S is holding its own and producing revenue thanks to Mr Benharris leadership. However with all of that said someone is selling and the SP keeps falling, so there's a rationale for this action. My own wild guess based on nothing factual is that Midatech may be looking to buy or acquire something and that's going to take cash and maybe even stock.as nothing seems to excite this SP. I mean we have an incredible story to tell, we have an incredible interim to report on in two weeks and we have future blockbuster opportunities and we trade such thin volume and generally drifting lower all year from >180 pence. So why is that? Yes eventually this turns as Jim, Rolf and others at Midatech will not fail as that's not an option. Everyone on the management team seems to genuinely care about the company and its success, so I am happy to sit, wait and add to my position and let them work toward Midatech's success. Yes I too wonder when the pendulum will swing in our favor, but I am certain it will and that's why I am staying invested. Not if it will swing but when will it swing, that's the unanswered question. Any other thoughts out there as to why the SP decline over the past 6 mos?

I echo those same thoughts. Something is out of sorts regarding the delay, the\ possibilities are endless and I won't speculate as to why. But this is not your "normal typical" interim result release, as the delay to the last possible day regarding release has something of an element of oddness. Again I could speculate as to why, but I won't but plumping the 28th I too am intrigued and like you must wait. But something, and I can't point my finger on it is "out of sorts" here and we're not following the normal pattern. Let's hope our intrigue is not manifested in disappointment.
