They appear to have executed the financial/corporate part extremely well.

"50p I'd very low' Amen to that. Edidon priced hur at 70p+ back in January, I think. Malcy's (fwiw, I know not all find him crdible) has well over £ 1 as an estimate. IMHO it wouldn't take much for this to jump into the 60s, 70, or even 80s well b4 foil.

Whatever your view on Nimbys, environment, etc, it's just not important to the investment case here.

Onshore O&G is close to impossible, don't fret, swampy's side will tie it up till it's not worthwhile.

The holiday time is often a dangerous time for markets. With traders away and volume thin, small events can trigger big moves. I read that with senior staff away, often more junior staff respond in possibly riskier ways, heightening such moves.

There's certainly no shortage of disruptive influences out there, that's for sure.

However you will know as well as I do that the benefits of electric cars mb overstated in terms of fossil fuel use given the environmental and carbon cost both of manufacturing and then carting around those batteries containing lots of trace elements and one or two toxic ones.
And that the ICE is far the most efficient energy converter in cars and trucks, after transmission losses and electric motor inefficiencies.

But my basic point remains. Until we have ceased consumption, it makes no sense to deny ourselves the economic benefits of extracting our own hydrocarbons, by enriching others instead.

I should think I am at least as environmentally minded as you and agree that it is best kept in the ground.

However society does not seem to agree, and O&G consumption grows every year. On a personal level I imagine you, too, use it to heat your house, cook your food, drive your car.

the answer is to curb consumption. But as long as that consumption is there, it is a pointless act of self denial, and economic national self harm, not to develop the UK's resources and import it, mostly enriching regimes inimical to us.

Far b it from me to tell you what your trading strategy should be, But I don't think of RBD as "quick money", tho that doesn't mean it couldn't see some sharp rises at key times.
For me they are, as someone else said, a mini Kerogen, and their strategy a good long term bet.
