With all the dithering regarding the on/off WHI/BLUE takeover debacle and EVOL thrown in the mix for good measure. Is it no wonder the City has shown no interest in the latest potential Brokerage tie up. If brokers cannot make their minds up on who how and when to make an offer lord help the rest of the bourse companies who rely on these outfits for market advice. Until they (brokers) get their own house in order then the lack of confidence in an already twitchy market will continue. Even the market makers are in on the act by marking a near 30% spread. The whole sorry debacle stinks in my book. But remember Peter Webb, a director, holds a chunk of the shares, so this is a wild card it seems.

Looks like the "City" and the meerket are not that impressed with the terms of the potential offer. Neither stock involved has shown any excitement this session. But the offer is alleged to be over 6p/share. What is interesting BLUE could not even indicate whether or not any potential offer will be all cash or a scheme of arrangement (soa) or a mixture of the two, now that will instill confidence, but i do not think so. Just like the WHI/EVOL/BLUE was just as ambiguous. If the potential offer turns out to be an all cash offer then DGT shareholders will be in for a treat, if it by way of a soa then who could possibly be interested when Companies are de-listing in droves leaving even fewer for the brokers to fight over and vie for business. Consolidation is the way forward for this sector but not on the cheap.

Hunting DGT and has put in a 6p/share offer as announced today. 9.16% shares trade mid afternoon session, that was some sharp trading after market weakened the share price after the early session's hype buying. My guess is that it was management that bought the stock, as Mr Peter webb has been a steady buyer of the stock in recent months, possibly in readiness, my speculation, to spearhead a management buy-out. Dan Stewart high tailed it out of a bidding war last year after its claws were pulled in an audacious takeover attempt, my guess it is still licking its wounds, but may try again and capture the blue blood client base of DGT.

The last time the Board received an offer, it was pitched and worth at around 20.5p/share. Things have moved on since then, but what is for sure there will be consolidation in the brokerage sector with a lucrative client base alleged to be on the verge of expanding.
