Hi Agentsmith, very interesting perception. I just wonder how Mothercare and its acquired early Learning Centre brand will like the competition. My suspicions are that Mothercare will be taking a keen interest here. With online retailing estimated to rise to over £6bns by 2012 from current £1.7Bns with a market share of retailing growing into double figures by then, Mothercare could gobble up ASOS out of its loose change, so ASOS must watch its back if it treads on those toes. Indeed With all the major retailers losing out to online shopping, I would suspect both Markus and Spencurus and Arcadia are already looking at ASOS as a potential target. So far neither has dared go for a price war with the internet, so far. Even though both are beefing up their sites. With well funded Baugur concentrating on its historical holdings in the likes of Wooly and Worth, Moss Bros French Connection (as seen on screen), and Debenhams, ASOS looks like an obvious competitor takeover candidate with a ready made market leading internet market share. In my opinion ASOS sales forcasts are way off beam, and could see the share price climb to £3.85-£4.00 conservatively, NEXT could sieze ASOS without breaking into a sweat. My opinion is that ASOS is an extremely attractive acquisition target from all of the well known high profile retailers.
