Well so far so good as far as the interest rates hikes are happening and inflation is hitting us everywhere.
The SP here has been solid yet again, without even ex-dividend adjustment and not even a cent move whilst all around my portfolio large drops that over match the FTSE.
I do appreciate however that in the main FTSE market, the yields are still lower than inflation.
I increased my holding here in the past couple of months.

Bought today as HHI is looking cheap. Chart suggests a quick-ish bounce back to 160 IMO where I hope to top slice today's holding, but up until recently anything under 170 has been a buy. This however could be a move to a lower range.

We'll see.

This is quite a sell off.
I bought back in at 111 with the capital gained from selling in the 120s to see the SP go down further.
Figured a bounce from 110 support, but now the next stop down is 104.

Just bought some of my holding back.
I'm still targeting an SP in the 1400s if the FTSE crashes further. Long winter so like others here, I have appetite for the prospect of another healthy div next in March.
The fear will be if or when the Richards Bay Coal price might return to their previous long term steady prices around $120, adjusted up for inflation.

Well, I've traded the drop and sold at 1870. Final decision made after reading the CFO sold shares today, though in fairness there could be many reasonable reasons for selling. But anyway. Looking to reinvest in the low 1500s or 1400s, the high SP range before the dividend announcement. We'll see. If not then I'll stick with the top sliced holding and the lost trade will become like a fish that got away.

2020 209,333,333 shares at 80p MC = £167m
2022 239,333,333 shares at 3p MC = 7.2m but no more Norway, and finances ring-fenced. Thai deal in place.
A return to a £40m market cap means an SP of 16p

To add some thought to the discussion. I doubt anything Russia does will make a scrap of difference, if he's attempting to sell his gold at discount to the $ price. The dollar is so strong, and the US can trade the gold price down at a whim so any customers to their exchange will be short lived. If anything it could end up being a pull down on the gold price.

Do I laugh or cry looking at the 21 year chart.

Hi all.
Compare the 1 month and 6 month chart of Eastman Chemical Company, EMN quoted in $ on Wall St and SYNT.
Monthly is the same and the 6 month very Similar.

Market doesn't look like it recognises that the Adhesives business has been separated from Eastman.
The recent news from Eastman is not good for share value.

Not checked for any correlation with general plastics/adhesives trends, but adhesives news is all pretty positive.

It's a massive % to drop down on the day. 1800 to 1500 with the full 300 gap down, however with such good prospects that the next dividend will be high, those low prices may not hang around especially if coal ticks up same day, also,
If price drops by 300, then it's actually better for me to trade the gap due to the 20% withholding tax, Div of 300 is actually 240.
Currently umming & arring on this, so may split my holding and trade half the ex-div drop with half.

Have to wait and see from the presentation. The market has had enough of MM's bull****, IMO he still doesn't understand that the market knew what he was doing all along and only allowed it for the sake of a profit, which has now not materialised.

Got a first holding here last few days, 6% of my ISA, attracted by the dip in price 78p and the regular dividends to DRIP.

Dam, didn't head my own observation and bought back at 180 this morning to now watch the SP get spanked as per that chart signal. Hold through.

Good presentation and Q&A on their results webcast.
Very positive on the outlook of new projects but quite subdued on the likelihood of Mintails.
Good attitude that the best way of reducing their AISC was to produce more ounces.
DION stated that buybacks were an option but practically lowest on the list of options for use of capital, especially with so much development upcoming. Reading between the lines buybacks will probably not happen but if they do are going to very minimal.

It's a Sh|t Show but Anglo Asian made the choice themselves to spank the share price, maybe to serve the buyback and allow a share holder to sell out slowly. The problem with this is that the liquidity here is hopeless. Increasing the divi using their cash pile would increase liquidity and the SP but no, smaller dividend equals low SP. They might blow the cash on development and do a low SP placement, almost like issuing shares at mate rates so they can benefit once the SP goes back up over 100. Who knows, but as an investment right now AAZ is not attracting anyone. As I said before IMO the only way to gain out of AAZ one is to sell on the spike ups (which of course the ramptastic dislike but by now surely proved correct).

Any chartists ?
My basic understanding of charts on trading sentiment is that a new low is not a good sign for the SP.
Previous recent low was 178.7 and this morning's dip was to 176.95 at around 830am.
We'll see. I'm looking to buy back those shares I sold on Monday.

Got to be honest, I expected a dividend higher than last year given the lack of debt, and higher EPS. A Simple question for the presentation this morning unless explained during the slides. Also, I'd hope they abandon any share buybacks in favour of higher divs.
