£1.75bn when there were 71.35bn shares in circulation at approx 63p (March 1st) equates to approximately a 2 1/2p rise in the share price due to the buyback.

Wids, this buyback will result in a few pence price appreciation at the most, last years was less than 2p as I recall. I rather think this share is moving upwards for the opposite reasons it tracked downwards (Brexit mainly). The maths are quite simple in calculating what effect the buyback will have. I was merely teasing Jamesroo as he blamed last years buyback for the share price tanking.

We need Cuckoo to explain to us why the share price is not going down during this buyback.

If there has been an over-provision for PPI, then it will be released to profits. I wouldn’t bank on it amounting to much given the increased provisions made continually to cover Lloyd’s exposure over the last few years.

A number of us hold a large number of Lloyd’s shares. Lloyd’s has positioned itself for Brexit, de-risking abroad and putting its faith in the UK economy - an economy that is outstripping the Eurozone.

We all want Lloyds to flourish, we just disagree over how going forward. Lloyd’s has been affected by Brexit uncertainty without doubt. I happen to think that the Market Makers have undervalued this stock for a long time. Time will tell whether they are right or some of us.

I love the assumption amongst Remainers that Macron et all will entertain further prevarication.
