I hasn’t traded in TCG shares for years. I have a small residual holding having sold most of mine when Harriet Green was ousted.

I too have many friends at Thomas Cook who I would hate to see lose their jobs.

I’m sure we’re all really grateful for the benefit of your wisdom and advice. Maybe you ought to charge for it as making reams of posts about a company you are not invested in must be very time consuming.

From what I’ve read there are some vulnerable and naive posters on here who are easily influenced.. I think you’re confusing me with someone else regarding calling you a troll 3 weeks ago and losing half my money here.

If anything as a former employee, I would have thought you might be a little more sensitive to the plight of the staff at Thomas Cook, worried about their future. Then again, it comes across that you may have an axe to grind sadly.

Spread betting if that’s what you’ve taken an hour to come up with is not shorting.

What’s your position MrMaggoo exactly? Or don’t you actually hold one ? We’ve heard what you have to say. Why don’t you actually let people make their own minds up instead of trying to influence them ? If you actually hold a position here, why don’t you enlighten us all as to what it is ?

If you don’t, you in my mind have an ulterior motive continually posting negative comment aimed at creating chaos and with scant regard for those who have booked Thomas Cook holidays and as a by-product would happily see over 20,000 employees out of work.

I’d be interested from anyone here who claims to have shorted this stock, who exactly you borrowed the stock from in the first place to short the shares. I suspect there are a lot of dubious posters on here who haven’t actually “shorted” Thomas Cook shares at all.

A number of posters claim they have no interest here yet they continue to post negatively about a 178 year old British company attempting to survive. Yes, we’ve heard what you have to say now. Go and take your negativity to another bulletin board please.

Hope so Tommy. I’ve no doubt Thomas Cook will fly their passengers this summer. Fosun will buy the Tour Operator later in the year and take it private (at what price I know not) and the airlines will be sold.. Fosun will have a close relationship with the spun off airlines and put the seats their way. It will be part of the deal which will make the airlines attractive to buyers.

It won’t make 80p as you correctly assert. I’ve come across some complete idiots on these boards too. One prat earlier on his first and only post thanking people for helping his short position and going on a cruise with the proceeds. He even said “I told you so” when he’d never posted before. Short position ? I worked as a stockbroker once and short selling is illegal. A short position needs you to borrow stock from someone else such as an institution, sell it in the market and buy it back. I’d love to know from these boasting shorters who they’ve borrowed the stock from. Perhaps you could enlighten us instead of wishing a 180 year old British company down the drain because it’s been badly managed.

One fool earlier was suggesting over 20,000 Thomas Cook staff took to eating Aldi throways out of dustbins. Shameful some of the posting I’ve seen in the last couple of days here. If you’re not a shareholder or don’t want a Thomas Cook holiday, I respect your opinion. Just don’t contribute your silly negativity on here for what are ultimately ulterior motives.

I’d be more worried about getting on a 737 Max this summer than worrying about whether Thomas Cook leave you stranded at your holiday destination. Thomas Cook will not be going bust this summer. Period.

I do remember Excel well, going bust that Autumn.

TCG has enough funding to see them through the summer. The crunch time will be Oct 1st when the banks could pull the plug if they are not close to selling the airlines. I agree the UK weather this summer will be a factor.

Time will tell I guess. It would be a shame to see such an iconic brand disappear.

Holidaymakers don’t care if a travel company is a future going concern or not if they’re booking a late this summer and from my knowledge of the industry a large proportion of passengers do not know the difference between Thomas Cook and Tui.

Thomas Cook will be flying their passengers this summer. Travel companies do not fold in the summer time. The company is not going bust imminently. I agree with you regarding the PR. It has been poor and the company needs someone (not PF because he is woeful) telling the public it’s business as normal and bookings are safe.
