Thinking of getting some of these and sitting on them for a few years as a recovery play. Archie Norman is quite adept at turning round the fortunes of companies. Is anyone with a better knowledge of me in this stock able to tell me who’s pulling the strings here ? Is it Archie Norman ?

Bruce - what exactly are you expecting the buyback to do ? It will increase the share price by approx 2 1/2p when it is finished. I think some have an unreasonable expectation of what the buyback will do. Are you expecting Lloyd’s to defy the rest of the sector moving downwards because 13m shares have been removed from the register today ?

Yes, wasn’t there a 10.5m sale booked after the bell yesterday ? Didn’t do the doom merchants much good today. I’m sure some of these larger trades are done during trading hours but not booked until after 16.30.

Nice to see the share price stabilise this morning. The selling spread betters on here (they’re not shorters as they have not borrowed stock) must be fearing that this will be yesterday’s news soon and nothing will be happening for a few months whilst Thomas Cook flies its passengers this summer. Talk of share suspension and administration seems to be pipe dream now for those talking the company down for their own nefarious reasons.

He’s not a shorter Cavendish. At best he’s a spread-better. And one glorying in stocks going bust at that. Sounds like a very bitter person to me with lots of issues......

In a few months time none of this will matter as Fosun will own the Tour Operator and the airlines will spun off.

Tour operators do not go pop at the start of a summer season. TCG has sufficient cash reserves to see it through the summer in any case whilst the next few months will be spent evaluating the bids for the airline.

Hilarious reading the wishful thinkers on here that are predicting an imminent demise. Some call themselves “shorters” when in actual fact they are not shorters at all. They have not borrowed stock from anyone. They are merely spread betters. Others have an interior motive, whether they have an axe to grind or are competitors merely wishing Thomas Cook to fail.

I suspect that things will calm down now apart from some continuing volatility and things will play out at the start of the Autumn.

I can assure you I own significantly more than 4 shares. The size of a shareholding is relative I guess. Telling you how many I own is none of your business to be honest and on a anonymous website, one could make anything up.
