The gamble you’re taking of course Crowcast is that we don’t go into recession with Lloyd’s so wedded to the UK economy now. I agree they’re cheap. My average is 61p but I’ve got enough of these now in my portfolio. If they drop further I can take the pain because a loss is only crystallised when you sell of course.

I’m hopeful Brexit will turn out well for the UK after a period of turbulence that will probably follow our exit.

I’m less concerned about Brexit and more so the Trump v China dispute that will affect everyone. Fingers crossed eh ?

Trump is making some huge gambles if you ask me. The Telegraph article suggests the Chinese are not going to bend over likely and even larger tariffs or currency manipulation will be his way forward. Currency wars did not end The Great Depression.

Since Lloyds started buybacks on Mar 8th 2018 other UK bank shares have performed as follows. Draw your own conclusions as to whether Lloyds buying back stock has been the reason for its share price demise as pedalled by JamesRoo and a couple of other misguided posters.

Opening share price 8th Mar 2018 and closing price 9th Aug 2019.

Barclays 213.00 and 143.76 = -32.50%
Lloyds 67.4 and 49.5 = -26.6%
RBS 260.7 and 204.6 = -21.5%
Metrobank 4,020 and 622 = -84.50%

Share prices move for all sorts of reasons Cuckoo. And indeed both up and down. It’s not too late for you to do some reading on what moves share prices. Ask Nurse Ratched if you can be escorted to the library there.......
