The issue is time. The simple fact of the matter is there is no £300m overdraft to get the company through the winter if progress on disposing of the airline is not made. In Oct the banks could just pull the plug and the shareholders are wiped out anyway.

What about 20,000+ staff Siborg ? Would you see them out of a job too ?

No one knows what will happen to PF yet but I would imagine his days are numbered. He would say that about the bids wouldn’t he ? I would imagine the banks will sell their stake in the airline at some point in the not too distant future at a reasonable price if it continues to be profitable.

Why would the banks take control of the airline and liquidate it ? The planes are leased so there are no tangible assets and the airline is the part of the group making money. That makes no sense whatsoever. Besides, when Fosun take over the tour company, it will still need capacity to fly its holidaymakers around. Who is going to fly these millions of holidaymakers around exactly ?
