To add Armani (sorry only just seen your post), these shares are ācumulativeā preference shares so in the event dividends are suspended, the company has to pay any dividends passed before it can restart paying ordinary shareholders. Iāve found the spread is notional and is much tighter in practice (less than 2p sometimes - getting quotes without executing buys or sells trades allows you to see the spread. Theyāre yielding about 7.2% currently at the price. Seem fairly to safe to me at present that dividends will continue and preference holders get first dibs of course. Hope that helps.
