You’re absolutely right. Higher rates = higher Net Interest Margins but increased impairments and vice versa. Lloyds of course is wedded the UK economy & property market and consequently with commentators suggesting UK growth going forward is going to be low, Lloyds share price has suffered. I’m sure these will come good in time but in the meantime just take the dividend and let the buybacks enhance your share percentage. How long it’s going to take is anyone’s guess 🤔 Best of luck.

What would you say normal interest rates are Gordon ? Historically, the average interest rate is around the current levels. We just had 12 years or so of ultra low rates following the crash of 2008 and many people thought these low rates were normal.

I hope they continue with the buybacks year after year.

I would imagine the 62% have hardly got any premium bonds. The more you have the greater your chance of winning.

Funnily enough skier, most of the UK companies of late that decided to list on the US exchanges are trading at discounts to their launch price. Overvalued there perhaps ?

the country has a great future but we need to take advantage of brexit freedoms quicker that we are. i only own a few uk stocks now. lloyds, aviva, l&g, bae, phoenix. m&s, h&t, burberry, centrica, national grid, costain, rolls royce, sse, melrose, bab****, sage, experian, relx, gcp infrastructure and a few others with small holdings.

most of my portfolio now is abroad. come on uk. i want back but show me the money……
