I'm surmising Bumble. It just seems odd that AFC is supposed to be going full steam ahead to produce a high density solid cell for ABB yet they announce progress on an ammonia cracker. It's therefore a reasonable conclusion to draw that the solid cell is no longer a priority (or maybe it's proving problematic) particularly as the 100kw iteration was to be delivered months ago i.e. the latter part of last year!

Wouldn't have thought so Heath. I'm sure Hydrogen fuelled ICEs are not as sensitive to impurities as fuel cells not least due the intense heat generated during combustion.

There you go Johnny. I think this extract from the research article link is relevant. It's all very complicated stuff however and I don't profess to be an expert but it is clear that the road to long lasting power production (1000s of hours) from AEM fuel cells is not straight forward!
This might explain the recent focus on developing an ammonia cracker instead of ABB's solid cell unit!

The biggest crook on here is haggis. The market capitalisation is a long way from £500 million and I suspect will remain so for a very long time. Haggis will disappear as soon as the results are released if not before. In my view he's a paid ramper, plain and simple and he's not alone!

I think you're becoming unhinged Seg! I know you were expecting a higher shareprice by now, based on your perception that AFC are doing alright but at this rate it'll be a longtime before you (and me) break even with this dog. We've all gambled here and lost at least in the short to medium term. That's the reality, like it or not!

Bond was clearly super excited about the ammonia cracker but when talking about the other "division" right at the end i.e. fuel cells his excitement notably dropped off, which I interpreted as an indication that the ABB solid cell and AlkaMem are not on schedule to be delivered anytime soon. Looks like the emphasis is now on selling ammonia crackers, which Bond conceded they'd spent"millions of pounds" developing. The results might be a bit scary when they finally appear!

I thought they'd already bought one of these commercially so I'm just wondering what's innovative about this? The RNS is certainly a bit left field! Does this mean there's no ABB unit until 2025 as it is supposed to use ammonia? It's all very confusing!

No doubt a good decision Spacerat. I should've sold at the recent spike to 30p but unfortunately hung on foolishly hoping that they were about to issue an RNS announcing something positive! Lol The disdain for shareholders here is off the scale and still some praise them. Unbelievable!

Can the market live with the delay though Bumble? I fear teens to be revisited today partly due to the wider market meltdown, particularly around growth stocks but mostly because of the company's lack of achievement and their ongoing stonewalling. Unhappy times as an AFC investor unfortunately! You pays your money etc!

That's all true Klunk but with hindsight we can see the spike to 80 odd pence was based purely on a sector boom and nothing AFC specifically did. Indeed it's odd AFC didn't issue a speeding ticket at the time though thankfully they didn't. Bond was super lucky to get the placing done close to these elevated SP and t's been downhill and disappointment ever since, hence my ire. Let's be honest, he's delivered precious little.

I think haggis is trying his best to mislead here. He has no idea why AFC are no longer working with Extreme E anymore than the rest of us. He's FOSH!

And 4 years later he's back in the same boat Bumble i.e angry shareholders who have seen their investments at best stagnate in that interim period. He can only string it out for so long without facing complete ridicule.

Good shout Klunk but I wonder if Bond's actually going to be there! Unless he pulls something significant out of the bag beforehand (ABB solid cell anyone!) he's going to be in a bit of a pickle so wouldn't be surprised if he stands down to spare himself the wrath of disappointed investors. Just my thoughts which are no doubt completely wrong.

So why is AFC not involved with Extreme E anymore? Was it because their tech was really good and providing the cars and paddock with ample power or was it something else?
