The relevance to AFC is that perfecting an AEM fuel cell, which AlkaMem is, is extremely problematic as different factors such as water management, CO2 levels and a strongly alkaline environment all pose problems for the longevity of the membrane and the efficiency of the desired chemical reaction. My general point is I guess that Bond has exaggerated (familiar pattern) the potential readiness of this system as borne out by its no show after nearly 4 years from its announcement to lots of boasts including the now infamous holy grail comment.

Haggis has been saying the same thing for months so by the law of averages he'll eventually be correct. Let's hope when an update finally does arrive it'll have been worth the extraordinarily long wait.

The point I'm making is that the chemistry behind AEMs is very complex with one of the impediments to reliability being degradation of the membrane due to it being in a strongly alkaline environment. I guess my point is if academics can't perfect anionic exchange membrane chemistry it's a big ask for AFC to do it. Maybe this is misguided johnny and if so you could maybe explain why?

AlkaMem will not happen in my view. It's parameters are too complex for AFC to perfect in house. Without it I don't believe we can have the ABB solid cell either which probably explains the protracted silence. I'd love to be completely wrong but I doubt it.

At this rate it's looking like Bond is going to take this to the legal limit which I think is 6 months but I'd have at least expected a notification in the interim to tell investors when the results are actually going to be published. The complete silence on anything to do with results is shocking. Bond is taking his fiduciary responsibilities to the limit.

Wonder what happened to HiiRoc and so much else. Where's AlkaMem for example? And now shareholders are being denied, to the last possible minute, their right to know what the state of play is at the company they own. It really is a scandalous situation.

These posters have no credibility whatsoever, especially haggis. His SP won't drop below £500 million MC is the best yet. How they can keep going with their positive spin, given the dire state of the SP and the company's commercialisation plans, is remarkable. Either they're totally gullible or there's an ulterior motive.

I agree. He's been given long enough and has quite obviously failed to deliver on the bullish rhetoric. I'm still waiting for the holy grail (otherwise known as AlkaMem) nearly 4 years after it was first touted by Bond himself. It didn't exist then and it doesn't exist now. Shocking really!

I agree Daz. They're a peculiar bunch. When you look back at said report now it reads like a fantasy, which of course it was, even at the time. It's cost many investors dear.

Simple question. Would anyone who invested on the back of the ultra bullish June 2021 half year report be satisfied with where the company now sits in March 2023?

It certainly looks like a very professional setup which AFC seemingly can compete with. I think our best hope is that ABB could buy us out if our IP is attractive enough to them. Messing about with power towers isn't going to transform AFC into a £billion company anytime soon! I'd be thrilled with 50p a share as things stand.
