Well if AFC are still involved in attempts to develop high powered fuel cells for shipping in collaboration with Ricardo and others, they're keeping awfully quiet about it!

I take your point about the advantages of the current higher power system Bumble but is it high power enough to be able to power ships, trains etc.? For me AlkaMem was the key ingredient to enable AFC to begin deploying their fuel cell technology in high energy consuming industries like rail and shipping. I mean the Power Cube would've been a hell of a bit of kit but unfortunately it's been shelved due to AlkaMem's no show. Very disappointing.

If you can understand the article it certainly gives some idea of the complexity involved in the development of an efficient and long lasting AEM fuel cell. I think it reveals a lot about the chances of seeing a commercially available AlkaMem containing fuel cell, anytime soon.

If you're seriously saying that AlkaMem is a realistic prospect in the foreseeable future Bumble, you're either deluded or being less than candid. From memory Bond used the analogy at the AGM of either getting something out the door now using another membrane or waiting until, I think he used 2030 as an example. He didn't mean it literally but I took it as a strong hint that AlkaMem was still a long way off but here you are deliberately misleading readers into thinking it could be imminent. He stated that it's structural integrity was a big issue i.e. if there was even a small hole in it the entire membrane's performance was compromised. At least try to give a balanced view Bumble!

They were only able to because they resorted to sourcing the membrane being used, commercially as their in house designed membrane (AlkaMem) didn't work! Hardly a ringing endorsement of AFC's tech, Bumble!

Red and others just want to talk amongst themselves to convince each other that Bond is actually capable of delivering on his hype this time. It can only be hope as unfortunately our CEO has virtually no credibility with the market, a reputation that is well deserved. The "proposed" Speedy JV sounds very like an old style MOU to me! How many of them have AFC indulged in over the years, all of which resulted in a net zero outcome? And don't forget the biggest bluff of all i.e. AlkaMem! It's really difficult to take anything AFC say at face value given its long track record of failure. Could it be different this time? Unlikely I'd say but there's always a chance.

I think we've got the stirrings of a recovery. Let's hope so anyway. One thing's for sure, the SP should never have been this low on fundamentals alone. Onwards and upwards 🤞

The Motley Fool article could apply to VOD too. Maybe the bottom is finally in and we're going to see a slow but steady rise from here. At least after today, things look a little more hopeful.
