Seems to be keeping a low profile lately. His promise of big SP gains this autumn is looking increasingly unlikely. Mind you he has a very poor record in this regard with him once suggesting it would go to £1.50!

Hi Charley. My average is around 87p. I've averaged down to get there but unfortunately the SP seems nailed in the 70s. I have a feeling that it's going to be a long, hard slog to get back to a profitable position, unfortunately! What about you?

I wonder what they'll do with the 200KW unit/s that were meant for ABB? It's becoming clearer by the day that that deal has most probably fallen through. No news in this case is definitely not good news, I suspect! It's also interesting to see haggis exposed on ADVFN for what he is i.e. an AB stooge. Hopefully he'll skulk off now, hanging his head in shame, never to be heard of again!

I bought VOD and have lost a lot more in capital than I've made in dividend! My biggest regret is not keeping all my money in RR. Dividends can be overrated!

This dividend malarkey is clearly pointless. What's the purpose of it if you lose the same or more than the dividend, in capital. With the SP hovering around 25 year lows, the dividend, to be paid in February, is of little comfort. No wonder most US companies don't bother with dividends and look how much more successful the NASDAQ/Dow/S&P is compared to our dreary FTSE. Maybe there's a case here for suspending future dividends to concentrate on capital growth. I mean the SP barely went up in the run up to today so clearly the prospect of a substantial dividend was not overly attractive to potential investors.

That's true Robleo but I'd say there's many more investors underwater here than on dry land. If the maximum value the BOD can squeeze out of VOD is £20 billion, they need replacing.

Maybe they'll announce some SP enhancing news in the morning. Chance would be a fine thing! I'm really starting to regret taking a position in this dog. Margherita is simply not delivering any shareholder value whatsoever. Comparing her efforts to Tufan Erginbilgic over at RR is like comparing night to day!

RR is definitely pushing its green credentials. I reckon being at the cutting edge of green engine technology will pay off handsomely in the years ahead.

It's not guaranteed as it is subject to regulatory approval, which is probably why the announcement of the merger has had no effect on the SP. By the time the decision's made we'll probably have a Labour government and as Unite were objecting to the merger (they donate a lot of money to Labour and will therefore have a lot of influence), I'm doubtful that it'll be approved. It's just bad timing. VOD investors are going to be waiting a long time for a decent SP uplift unless Margherita can spring some surprises!

I think you'll notice I commented on the Speedy news straight away Jim and even mentioned you in my post. Things do look a little better at the moment but Bond has an awful lot to do to restore his reputation. I'm sure you didn't have 15p in mind when you were predicting a shareprice recovery. This is still early days and as you can see, the market is treading carefully .
