Let's hope it's better than recent US airlines earnings statements. Apparently there's too much capacity over there, which has detrimentally affected profits at Delta and United. I don't think we suffer from the same problem so our results should be good. There is quite a negative market vibe around airlines though as manifested in EZJ's poor shareprice. Let's hope we get a good update and change in sentiment. God knows we've been waiting long enough!

The best thing VOD could do would be to suspend the dividend payments until such time as the shareprice has recovered to a more normal level. In my experience companies whose SP end up in crisis territory do just that until things recover. In any case what's the point of a dividend if one always suffers a greater capital loss as a result of its payment. The. BOD need to double down here to get this company moving up. At the current time, they're failing miserably.

What an awful investment this is. I wonder how many thousands of honest investors have lost their shirts on this dog over the years and it's seemingly not finished yet. Inflicting losses on investors seems to be the only game in town with VOD. 😔

With inflation seemingly not yet beaten interest rate cuts are looking increasingly unlikely in August. VOD no doubt will respond with a further dip today. Investing in shares, is rapidly becoming a mug's game.

That would definitely be a very good outcome, Bubble. Maybe there's still some hope that this debacle can get sorted out and so allow Harlands to get on with bringing back world class shipbuilding capability to it's legendary Belfast yard.

It clarified the now 80% loan cover request, changed from 108%. One wonders why they didn't do this in the first place!

Will the lack of optimism by some on VOD's future SP one wonders why they don't sell. I get despondent from time to time but I do believe as TGR has pointed that the MC is way undervalued.

There are no up front costs here for HMG and as they will be one of Harlands main customers I would've thought it would be in its interest to back the company. If they're serious about enhancing UK shipbuilding, providing the loan guarantee is a no brainer. Maybe the republicans in the Labour party do not want to back NI PLC!

What are the brokers seeing that the market isn't? The broker targets look great compared to the current SP but the relentless SP attrition is none the less, quite disconcerting. TBH this is turning into a bit of a disaster. Maybe, China is in terminal decline dragging this down with it!

Good reasons to stay invested avocet but all that stuff will take considerable time. The market is simply not willing to place any value on VOD's future growth ATM so it's looking like a long slog to make a good return here, which is frustrating.

That all sounds very logical TGR but the market doesn't agree. Mind you the market is broken I feel so this may be partly why VOD and others are trading at such low values. Whatever the reason, investing in stocks seems to be becoming increasingly pointless unless you're lucky enough to stumble across a company that the market treats favourably or are in US tech stocks.

It's looking ominous for the Q1 trading update. I doubt there'll have been much progress made in Germany with its economy faltering and no doubt we'll get another drop upon payment of the dividend. It's difficult to remain positive as a holder here. The shareprice is simply not recovering at all as it can't even get above 70p for a sustained period. I'd settle for a takeover at 80p, the way things are going but the seeming lack of interest, even at these prices, is worrying.

JP Morgan tried to suggest that RR was only worth 70p. They stuck with this until the SP was north of £2 and then they did a U turn and went with £2.60 or something and they're suggesting £5 or there abouts. These broker recommendations are very often deliberately low in attempt to manipulate shareholder behaviour. Maybe some large entity wants to buy in and obviously would like a lower price. Just my view.
