MoneyP1t with the release schedule we have I am reasonably confident one of the two remaining weeks will be another c. $100m or more one. The other could be weaker just down to what and when we have releases.
Otherwise I would be super confident of the $700m.
Those big movies make unbelievable difference and as one of recent articles suggests they may become ever more important.
Audiences ",may" go less and "only" go for these tentpoles in the main.
That would so far seem to have some grounds for consideration as we have seen far less "filler to mid range" cinema releases.
Less visits but higher spend per visit could be the business future.
Early days, let's see after another couple q's box office and financials.

One was bought 2019, the other 2020 from what I read.
Like Bonkers comparison of Tesco and restaurants there is massive difference in a company cherry picking the absolute premium prime sites to showcase some of their too product and them entering into owning a worldwide chain.

We have done this to death and one day it might happen.
However it seems to become increasingly desperate to hang onto it as the saviour for some of us on the share price rather than focus on the business we know we have and its continued steady recovery.
To say streaming doesn't work is rather deluded also when one business here is valued hundreds of billions and the other currently not even ONE.

There has for years and will continue to for years a place for both.
There may well be more collaboration in future, I find purchase less likely, but they are both very much unknowns.
I for one won't be counting my share holdings at couple quid a share the now on a wing and prayer hope.

Slightly stronger weekend than last weekends No Time to Die release weekend.
Benefits of strength in depth of high end movies :-)
Two full weeks to go, $140m per week and we will see c. $700m month.
First two weeks come in ave. c$155m.
Could be a stretch but not unreasonable I think to at least be approaching that now.

I enjoy a once in a while drop in over there to rattle him sammy :-)
Tend to agree there does seem to be a fairly strong case for folks (after what we have all experienced last two years) want to be out out more than ever. Living life and spending having fun outside their personal "jail cell" of last two years.
May take us more than few months but can definitely see good case for a strong future business.

$650m upwards I would personally be content now, less would I think be disappointing from this point.
Halloween kills tonight, venom last night both enjoyable I thought and another UK packed vina weekend.
Come on USA get up there too and we really can then get excited as LTH of this stock.

I am expecting c. $100m per weekend average then 2 X 4 week days to give us near another $100m ballpark.
Dune with support from this month so far bigger releases should all but guarantee one of those weekends $100m.

Main thing is we are growing again.
UK is without doubt back strong.
Maybe partly down to the way we faced pandemic and lock downs. Folk have had a year/year and half of "jail life" and jist want to grab life by horns again.

Don't think lot of US were as strict or for as long so maybe why the numbers have not yet rushed back as strong (though they clearly are building now with some extra product to entice)

I was of the $625 - $650 mind.
However box office is massively weighted to Friday/Saturday (then Sunday) with remainder much much lower. We get an "EXTRA" Friday Saturday. That's why I think it entirely possible to be pushing towards that now.
However I wouldn't cry if we "only" got mid $600m's
After this weekend we should be

US market looks to be shaping up towards a c. $700m month with that benefit of "extra" weekend right at end.
Couple c. $150m weeks and week 3 starting very similar.

I would heavily caution on the averages and from that extrapolating certain conclusions.
Few things:
If you are going to the cinema with a choice of 60 or 200 movies you can only see one at a time regardless.
The numbers going are not by any means likely to increase in a straight line with extra movies.
The movies that have been released are largely speaking skewed more to the bigger movies than would "normally" be the case.
So, we are improving (UK especially is looking strong) USA showing signs (early ones) of also catching up, but doubling of movies released I do not see us having a doubling at box office totals.
We are not in control of how many are released either and so far they don't seem to be growing at pace.

Onwards we go with improving signs though :-)

Yes my apologies. There have been some years with a November update, but I don't think it's a given by any means.

What makes you expect a trading update in November? Year end is December and results usually March with I think a brief update in January sometimes!? As is fairly standard with companies.

Will pass September total box office this weekend, halfway through month.
Time and content starting to return the industry to where it needs to be :-)

With c. Half of their short opened at c. 240p then this roughly doubling at high 60's they will sit pretty relaxed for some time should they choose.

Agree regards synergies part of claim in particular.
Other parts can be and have been argued and to varying degrees depending on interpretation and who is providing what information at the time can be seen from either side.

However I absolutely fail to see how ANYONE can make a sensible claim of ANY sort that Cineplex in this case can claim for loss of synergies.

This, for me is the witness and point(s) this case has waited on from day one.
Has seemed to me if we could just have had such an expert opinion right at the start we could have saved weeks of often waffle (and at times questionable behaviour by both sides). None of which matters of as is being testified and I think most here agree. It is both clear they deviated from "normal practice" AND by doing so effectively "hide" going over the debt level covenant.

Obviously still a way to go on his testimony and cross exam, BUT I do struggle to see the usefulness of all of the other days so far should this remain as is.

They had a C$800 facility. That as I understand was not to go above C$725 after some negotiation.
They didn't go above it (however the Cineworld case is they only didn't by "cheating the system")
Or that's my layman's take on what I have read/watched etc.

I think there are FAR more twitchy LTH on here than there will be these large shorters recently, now or near future.
Some have played it since pre pandemic (so you can imagine how comfortable their margin of concern is.
Some have played it during this pandemic and again they have breathing space a plenty..
Some, like LTH timed it poorer, but even most/all of them didn't panic at £1:24.
So forgive me, but I won't be holding my breath anytime soon expecting a massive short squeeze.
