Good news for Cineworld and many others in retail and leisure.

Think it is a weaker line up than October, but still a few fairly (potentially) big hitters there.

Details are important, so to clarify the 4% relates to global box office and is this close due to a big increase in Asian market (particularly China).
Cineworld screens there = zero.

PW I watched rather a lot of the case.
To say it is clear every day was in our favour I think is "opinion" rather than fact and it is opinion of people biased in viewpoint.
There was little clear facts on either side I would say.
We saw both sides produce witnesses that argued their viewpoint of the "facts" . Experts from both sides made a case for their side.
Yes, I think overall Cineworld have the better case, but it is for me still an "if"

I am not sure how you get to the conclusion of "we will be ok if we lose "and think we have added any significant money to our cash position since end H1.
Their claim is a multiple of any funds we have.
We are not able to access all cash we have due to certain parts of our lending.

We would be far from ok if worst case scenario we lost to full or near full value of their claim.
Even if we were able to get support to finance it then that extra debt burden would be crippling..
Other options may well see company survive, but could destroy us shareholders stake.

I seriously do not want to face Cineworld losing the case.
Don't think we will, at least not to near value of Cineplex claim. However none of us can guarantee the outcome currently.

Cineworld would have failed the debt covenants and is why they sought assistance from their lenders in this serious matter.
June 2022 they achieved waivers to and that at current levels would fail. This is part of the mix of reasons the share price is / has been where it is and why we have a high short level.
If required however I do feel reasonably confident (assuming continued trading improvements between now and June 2022) that the lenders will give further support by either relaxing the multiplier or giving further waivers for a period of time.

Both over optimistic and pessimistic ones largely waste of oxygen with ill thought out or no thought chatter.

Meanwhile USA continues its recovery (behind UK) month by month.
We will hopefully record highest $ box office since re-opening this month (passing July that had 2 of the summers massive films).
Think we should see $650 - $670m for the month.
This range will easily give us highest (do far) percentage compared with same period precovid.

I am prepared for possibly a "worse" November by comparison as think releases are less strong than this month.
However as audience confidence keeps growing I still hope we will see reasonable like for like % (maybe less than this month , but better than any other so far).
December then looks stronger again (though higher benchmark to meet requires that).

Just let this blooming court case be over and without major (any) cost. Some damages our way be great, but will settle for a no/little cost outcome.
Think us true holders can fall asleep now until next year earliest.

The wonga they have surely made getting every share price movement right they surely have more than Bezos and such.

Meanwhile month on month on month recovers gradually making a clear business case again in not too distant future :-)

It's actually a reasonably encouraging read. It confirms some of what those of us that look at some of the numbers have already known and been saying :-)
