With a view to try and take our minds off awful events now and terrible share prices all over.

What is the make up of posters here like in regards cinema going and general love of movies?

Who here is an Unlimited card holder?
Who goes to the cinema regularly, say most weeks or more?

Who goes maybe every month?
Few times per year?
When something specific comes out you are into e.g. Top Gun or a particular actor?

Who has no interest in cinema/movies?

For the movie lovers, is that part of reason for your investment here?

Me: Unlimited card holder for hmm c 6 years I think now maybe longer).
Prior to that rarely went to cinema.
Now I will go and see vast majority of releases and have very much enjoyed the escapism for few hours on most occasions.
Been a few stinkers of movies, but not that many if honest.
Having the card has meant I have seen number of movies I otherwise would not have.
Good few rather good ones in there as it happens too.

Understandably a very emotive subject Pig and respect your choice.
View it differently, but no point going on about it here as will most likely serve nobody well.

I do view it as a (probable/potential) excellent buy and hold until some time after whenever war is over.
Company of big profits, product in demand and big dividends.

LPD, You have been ramping heck out of Evraz giving false information that there is basically a "FREE" extra £1.88 to anyone that has bought them before Monday open.

Speaks volumes of you or anyone else thinks that is factual.

For the record and fill disclosure I held some Evraz early COVID times and sold for bit profit (missing another 100% + growth after).
Mentioned them briefly here yesterday morning prior to taking a small punt on them again later yesterday at 52p. Had I not been busy I would probably have sold circa half today when they were 90p + and left a near nil cost holding to do whatever.

As it is I was busy and still happy to let them roll as it is tiny holding compared to my Cineworld submarine.

I don't see it as Russia at war/invading Ukraine (let's all be honest it is Putin and only Putin). Plenty other unsavoury people/associations/nations/companies around the world I am sure many deal with/have shares in.

I personally don't see or have an issue holding small sum of shares in an Iron ore/steel company originating from that nation.
Each entitled to their own views and I respect that.

Another bad day in financial markets I note.
Means nothing when we look at true horrors going on on world though.

Anty, Yes as shares drop out of FTSE 100 / FTSE250 they are often dumped from big funds. It wouldn't have helped.

Side note: Evraz looks an absolute steal for a buy and hold until whenever conflict ends.

Company last results making large profits and we won't stop needing steel anytime soon.

Forest, you do realise Germany are about 4 X as reliant on Russian imports of energy than UK though.

Yes there is plenty reason for weakness in the share. That does NOT mean it will always be so.

As things stand the company has lost court case and owes far more money than it has available to it.

The film slate holds a number of potentially excellent big end movies, but as yet we don't have depth.
Weeks with 1 or no releases still.
By way of measure it would mostly be 4+ movies every week pre COVID.
Last two months were awful, as have many months been since reopenings.

Yes there was an upward trend of sorts to December but we can't sit here right now and say there is absolutely ZERO concerns on current and forward projections in box office.

There are wider market happenings that will hit us harder until we have a reduced payout or no payout ruling on Cineplex and/or strong consistent box office.
Oh and covenant waivers in place for June (maybe even December also).

I hope/believe we can negotiate through these things, BUT they will weigh heavy and make easy for market to hit us harder than many/most other stocks until then.

Some of your other posts no longer available due to them/threads being deleted, but those that follow know what was your previous position.

Bought at c £1.10 took a c. 70% loss and invested the £27k from an original c. £100k into xrp at c. .74.

Your sell price in Cine being in the 35 - 40p range.

Never smart to lie in written word where an easy trail is available.

Not good results, but lots on here looking for any port in a storm. Any more lock downs and this company is gone. Todays 8% rise is as close to a pump and dump as you will ever see. There is no reason to say this share is doing well with these dept ridden results. I'm still holding but I can't see my in of 110 coming back into view anytime soon. Should see 63 by close of play Friday.

I feel this share is dead in the water, I've taken out what’s left of my investment and put it into XRP coin. If the SEC case settles then I will make back my 70% losses from Cineworld. Cineworld has so many problems that I felt I had to jump. Keep an eye on XRP and see if I made the right decision, I put in £27000 at a price of 0.74. Good Luck to everyone who stays. I'll be back in a few months to see if I did the right thing. Over and out.......................................................

Easy to look back your posts and you did NOT sell at near double current price.
You previously claimed to have sold at pretty much current price.

You only later made out you kept a small portion still in.

Why is there talk of Cineworld having a counter to Cineplex counter?

That sounds ridiculous to me.
At what point to the counter, counter, counters stop before an appeal hearing is heard?

I (maybe mistakenly) thought/think this is it we go to appeal from here.

Cineworld are/were entitled to a counter to original ruling and as part of this new process, both parties allowed equal treatment. Therefore Cineplex have counter claims to Cineworlds next step.

Otherwise it becomes ludicrous. IMHO

It would definitely be a win for Cineworld and its shareholders.

Not 100% convinced taking a substantially reduced sum would be a win for Cineplex a d their shareholders.

They may well feel they can ride out financial storms to battle for substantial damages (already awarded by a court) and may prefer to loss one of the biggest players in the business giving them easier scope to scoop up future market share.

Who knows their thoughts!?

From memory the article was shared and discussed prior to Cruis sharing it twice later .

All they were speculating at the time was it would be in both parties potential interest to cut a deal as a bankrupt Cineworld would be in no position to pay C$1.24bn.

I was rather hoping MF was referring to more than one piece of baseless journalism in the FT.

FT had 2 + 2 = 27, now MF has run a bit further and 2 + 2 gotten 75.

More fool me thinking there might have been even a little substance.

I am referring to a piece today from our "friends" at Motley Fool.

If there was/is a piece which it originates from giving some substance to claims of a possible/probably agreement by both parties for a much lower settlement would you mind pasting it into boards?

For me the currently due C$1.24bn is by far THE issue strangling SP.
Anything based on substance that shows this is now seriously probable to be much less would be VERY welcome read.
