It is NOT old people that are the core of the business and there is still strong demand from the age groups that most use technology and other forms of movie watching.

When you say small PROFIT you mean circa 200MILLION right!?
Company does not require to be in a growth sector to be a good investment.
Many many companies produce year on year profits and good return on investment through dividends without being in a new or growth industry.
What's your current percentage likelihood of bankruptcy for Cineworld estimate?
What's your definition of "a few years" before small profits if they survive this bankruptcy premonition of yours?

One of many articles and facts available for the nonsense of the old cinema is dead/streaming is a replacement .

People went from no TV to one TV to a TV in every room of their house and then one on the device they make telephone calls with.
People still went to the cinema and after covid will again.
Streaming numbers are OBVIOUSLY inflated now as was internet shopping, watching sport on TV and many other things as NEWSFLASH we have been on a worldwide pandemic that meant the usual options were not available.
Pot Noodles are had for 50p yet people will return to restaurants.
You have been on thread long enough it is tedious how often this pointless circle has been circled.

If you EVER have something NEW to add to discussion, something negative OR positive then sure we will all welcome it.

Rock you say no reaction, but SP up 4-5% in UK and on the TINY market it trades in NY it was up a further c.3% on that.
Look at previous news and effect on SP it sometimes moved more the day after the news than day of news.
More than one factor at play.
For example shorts may have been closing Friday and without the news price may have moved down xyz% .
Thursday last week when 1st article on negotiations came out in the week SP originally spiked UP, then jade one of the fastest drops and then recovered half or more of that fall.
SP ended up on the week!

SG not out the woods, not by a long shot.
However not bankrupt today or tomorrow as you can't admit is not a given.
IF and I clearly state IF this latest article is a clearer picture of the negotiations and outcome then any reasonable educated person would struggle to say this is not tipping the balance favourably for the business being a going concern longer and more of a good news than bad news story (unless you are all in on 30p shorts that is)

Payment of dividends is that now the best negative you can spin?
Think near everyone long on Cineworld on this board has made it clear they couldn't care less of it takes a number of years before any dividends.
Most would probably be far happier seeing a few years where all profits were shovelled into reducing debts faster than anyone could forsee.

You do realise it is their creditors they are in talks with .
Yes those peeps that have put two offers on the table according to the report we are discussing.

Last two posts by you covered in the article IDW so no need to worry for the genuine investors here.

IDW however none of that is important right now.
Mind it wasn't about that just a few hours ago and for past few months.
Some here were saying the company would be bankrupt before now or in next days/weeks, shareholders would be completely wiped out.
The scenario you have stated means none of that, nothing like it.
SP may or may not take time to recover, business may or may not take time to make substantial profits and make dent in debts.
HOWEVER it WILL have finances to see it to the stage where it can make a go at it, a time far more like we all knew before this year.
FACTS are if this report is correct this gets Cineworld to the table where we all know there is a mass of more blockbuster films than ever to show and with vaccines near certain now to be rolled out in USA and UK (effectively the Cineworld business ) at an astonishing rates.
This is on the face of it a better outcome than many expected and as far from that predicted by the likes of Boix, SG and yourself as it could be.

Not exactly massive dilution to shareholders was it!!

To be fair the FT article that was then repeated on other media did state CVA was "being considered and only one option"
That is still effectively the case, just that the "other options" are now being reported as likely to be all or part of the negotiations outcome.

For even the worst arguments/least likely outcomes in the world everyone can almost always find ONE example.
It's all about probability however IDW!!
