As far as I know there is no update scheduled.
It's not even year end yet.

Once you are straight with vaccine effect then I will respond further on that point.

Go research more about covid and it's spread IDW.

Tall there is nothing decided and no requirement for an RNS.
It is merely hoped they will open in the first 1/4 of the year. That has likely been the hope/plan for some time.
However it is not a confirmed open date as still require outside influences to make it happen i.e. good start to vaccine roll out, reduced government restrictions in USA and UK , studios to confirm a number of releases.

Just how many threads, how many months, how many wasted hours need we have on a non issue.
Happy to have missed some of the latest spins on the merry go round that produces no different outcome every single time.

We have no idea when shorts will close their respective positions. It is entirely up to them.
What we do know per your data is that currently or would be just over 6 trading days time if as off today everyone of them decided to close based on current average trading levels.
That is all the "Days to Cover" tells us.
So as we would have expected with shorts remaining roughly the same and trade volume up last week on previous week's the days to cover fell a bit.

Seems they are still talking about fishing after 4 years of this. F sake it's as bad as the apparent surprise they got about 3 years into things of oh how do we deal with Irish border.
Anyway lets see what if anything happens.
Many commentators seemed pretty confident and that last ditch talks requiring bungling Boris were likely always part of plan for him to emerge the hero.
Bookies seem less confident of result than they were few days ago but it is a fluid market and I guess as we get nearer the last days makes sense to be less certain with odds.

None of us know is the short and accurate answer.

Brexit talks and any actual outcome is probably the one single influencing factor this weekend we do know off.

I do think you are complicating something and reading that wrong.
Days to Cover as per your link and my previous understanding is as I said.
It's how many days it would take all shorts to close their shorts if they saw company fortunes turning around and all wanted to get out.
It is based on how many shares are currently shorted divided by average trade volume over previous (is it 7!?, must check) trading days.
Higher the number longer it would take for all to close their short and this would in the case of a short squeeze give long holders a longer period of upward pressure on the share price.
Not sure of I have explained that any better than before.

I haven't had chance to look at your data previously NOFear.
Please forgive me if I have this completely wrong.
The days to cover is simply how many days it would take current level of shorts held to completely close if they chose to do so based on the current level of trades .
So higher volume today reduces that number.
Maybe I should look at your data before making above comment.
Anyway happy weekend all, next news is hopefully Brexit and a deal agreed.
Makes no odds to Cineworld in reality, but will settle markets/give confidence and probably some knock on positive SP movements.

Does realise his earlier post shows why cinema will continue to go hand in hand with whatever the current home alternative is surely, right!?
Listing the tech that replaces previous tech only shows the place for "experiences/events/going out"
Each of those progressions went hand in hand with live music gigs they didn't replace them.
Each of those viewing progressions went hand in hand with cinema they didn't and won't replace it.

Some people either can't get the simplest of things or refuse to.

Also good to read from response their current intentions are to open FIRST QUARTER next year.
Allows good time for movies to start flowing through, reasonable start to vaccines for those at high risk i.e. elderly, customers , studios and cinema operators to build confidence back in time for further quarters in year with more product and more customers = more money.

Bullmarket
It has been widely covered that Cineworld can make profit from as low as c.15% occupancy.
Obviously this is based on all screens all movies.
This requires the tentpole/blockbuster movies to be much higher than that.
However crucially with multiple screens they have the flexibility to put bigger movies on more screens at the expense of lower rate /low take movies when required.
Even with social distancing measures in place they can therefore comfortably run a profitable operation so long as the stream of movies is allowed to flow.

Hornblower tell me anyone that has a home screen the size of a cinema screen.
Almost nobody has a home that would fit such a screen even of this was a relevant point.

You know what levels of attendance are required for cinema (Cineworld specifically) to make profit, right!?

How many days I'm the last 5 months has the SP been trading above today's current levels?
Happy to end up on the week again by looks of things as I said last night.
Take one single day out of the last 5 months (yesterday) Remember that's ONE DAY, and I am pretty sure all long holders here (the ones that aren't already) would be pretty damn happy and relaxed.
